If this has already been acknowledged on here, then pardon me for being repetitive. Between last week's vignette of Chavo asking the medic for something to take away the pain and this week's skit with him telling Eddie he feels great and Eddie looking at his eyes, I have a really bad feeling that they're going to pursue a "Chavo is hooked" angle. The WWE usually puts out one extrememly tasteless and ill-advised angle per year or so, and we haven't had anything too repugnant since Torrie's Dad and Katie Vick. Does anyone else see this happening? Has there been any info as to whether or not this is planned? I truly hope not. Talk about career suicide.

The fact that Eddie was taken from being the hottest act on Smackdown (and arguably in the whole WWE) and is now shoehorned back into the midcard could also be called career suicide, but hey.

And I agree, for WWE to do any drug-related angle given the number of drug-related deaths recently, that would be a new low even for Vince and company.

I can understand not having a lot of faith in the company to do it right, but it is possible to do a drug angle that isn't tasteless or bad. I figure I'll at least give it a chance to not suck.

I had the same feeling too, with Eddie having to confront his former demons in order to save Chavo from them. It makes perfect sense, as Eddie should be stuck in a mid-card bad soap opera angle rather than the main event picture (coughsarcasmcough).

Look at the positive side of things. Smackdown doesn't have a Titan Tron for Chavo to be pushed off of.

No, but they never have had anyone dive off the giant fist, like we all were speculating would happen when it first debuted ;)

I don't like this at all. It's bad enough that they are doing this again at all. Watching them do this with Hawk (God bless him) a few years ago was bad enough. They did it once... it failed miserably. Time to try something new, like and Eddy/Chavo feud. Sorry, WCW did that one, too.

yeah, I was just thinking the other day "what the fuck happened to the mad Eddie push?!?!" ... Granted, I think Cena is one of the guys that will be the future of the company, but give Eddie his shot ... but hey, Benoit just NOW appears to be getting his.

I never made the connection of a possible pain-killer addiction angle. But now that you mention it there seems to be some signs. But I'm not going to call them out just yet.

But it is amazing how Eddie was the hottest thing on the entire show, maybe the entire company. Almost to the day that he lost the US Championship he never was looked the same... US Title loss to BigShow + Tag Feud with the incredibly boring Bashams(I know they got their fans in this board, but for me Top 3 Worst Team of the year)= Eddie popularity going the way of so many other really over guys who are working mid-cards

The idea isn't necessarily bad. It's just that I don't think anyone here has any faith in the writing staff's ability to execute the details.
