I can think of a few...
Who would have ever imagined the Thrashers doing as well as they have considering what they have been through?
Ottawa Senators? Paging, the Ottawa Senators......are you there??
Boston is doing well again, but we all remember last year, they started to tank almost half way through the season...

But the more recent surprise: The Isles drop their last four, thus ending up with 3 fewer points than the Rangers right now. D'oh! | mountinman44

For disappointments it has to be Ottawa. Washington is a total mess and are underachieving... In the west I'll say Edmonton is somewhat disappointing | J.T. Dutch

... Yeah, they've hung in there pretty well; and at the same time, they've been able to develop a few young guys. The recent trade for Straka adds some depth, and if Allison is able to return and get into game shape by the post-season, the Kings could do some pretty fair damage in the West. I haven't been this optimistic about a Kings' team in about 3 or 4 years.
Cechmanek still makes me nervous, however. Very unorthodox goaltender; makes the easy saves look difficult and the difficult saves look easy. | Omar Padilla

I prefer not to think like that. It hurts my brain.
They are getting healthy with the return of Stumpel and Palffy last week. Straka is a welcome addition, and Michael Cammeleri is playing some top notch hockey right now. I haven't heard any news on when either Deadmarsh or Allison will return. Deadmarsh is going through the ever-nasty post-concussion syndrome, and the Kings obviously do not want to mess with Allison's neck. There's no need to rush them right now. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
