Not knowing any other stuff written by Hyatte, not giving a shit about who hates who online I have to say it was a funny story.

The reactions of the wrestlers was fun, Benoit's revenge was great, and HHH wanting the strap-on was a good ending of that chapter too.

In all seriousness..I do believe that it reflects how some people think about wrestling. Vince+HHH+Steph are evil despite having a good point, while Benoit can do no wrong no matter what.

And even in a story like this Trish is a sweetie, I cannot wait for a rendez vous with her in a hotelro...er..wait..nevermind! :)

I agree with dMp...being new to the IWC, I have no idea who Hyatte is, or the guy he is supposedly ripping on. But I read the story and found it amusing. It was a bit long-winded, but entertaining. Even with Benoit being my fave wrestler, I still had to laugh at the point he was making.

I make it a rule NEVER to read anything on a computer screen that's more than 50 pages long (a strain on the eyes, don'cha know) ... However, I definitely plan to print this thing out and give it a look-see over the weekend; from what I've read over at 411, it sounds like a net-version of Celtic Pride (which, believe it or not, I consider a good thing).

You know, for a story that sucks and for a guy who's lost it, to get 43 posts about a parody pretty much says a lot. Just saying.

I've read it again and I like it. I just think Hyatte can write better *serious* novels.

Here's one more vote/opinion that it was darned funny, with the carictures of the wrestlers and fans being spot-on.

Guys it wasn't about scott keith at all, except in the sense that scott is a big part of what the IIWC was satiring. You can hate the peice if you want, but not enjoying it because scott keith was being made fun of is like hating Citizen Kane because you think sleds are stupid.

Right on! If you're going to hate "The Taking Of Triple H," then hate it for the right reasons - Like for its tepid dialogue. Or its uninteresting plot. Or its pathetic attempt at humour at the expense of the so-called Internet Wrestling Community.

Let's face it - If Hyatte was the great writer he claims to be, he wouldn't be writing wrestling fan fiction. He wouldn't be an IWC celebrity. He'd be a fucking writer.

This thread strikes me as an analogy to a classic wrestling match...a vicious, sneaky heel beatdown to start, followed by a babyface comeback and then A BRUTAL POKE TO THE EYE!...Heel takes over. Another massive beatdown, but anyone who knows wrestling matches knows that the white hot babyface makes his COMEBACK and then...

Oooo, my money says a Scott Keith run in

Until then I'll let the babyface comeback mosey along by saying that I thought it was pretty funny and made some great points, although the use of 'Scooter' rather took away from that and made it seem more like a personal attack at times.

Enjoy the rest of the fight :)

The story wasn't what I was expecting (wasn't expecting a STORY at all). But it was good.

I don't like long posts. Get to the point already.

So Hyatte comes back this week in his news update saying that if you didn't like the story, then screw you since he's the only one doing something original in the IWC nowadays. I don't quite understand this logic: Cat in the Hat sucked, but are we supposed to give the filmmakers a clean break just because nobody else made a Dr. Seuss movie this year?

Aah, but Cat In The Hat follows in the footsteps of The Grinch, no? The Grinch was original and I know a quite a lot of people who like that.

Um....how is this original? Seriously. He didn't say anything new in it, and the joke wore thin by the end. Grut's Wrestling Tales...Now THEY were groundbreaking. The whole thing reminds me of those guys a few years back who spent a $500k grant finding out why cornflakes crunch: A lot of time and effort for something that's ultimately no big deal whatsoever.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (Book)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) (TV)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) (Movie)

And, for bonus money:
Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat, The (1982) (TV)

The TV-Movie's been a identifible US X-Mas staple for a long time, gets repeated every year (though I haven't seen TOON roll it out yet*) and was just as much the inspiration/reason for the recent movie as the book...

The TV-Movie is one of the things I actually don't mind->enjoy about this time of year and the Movie-Movie is something I don't, so I hafta hijack the thread to point it out.

I'm awful curious on what Hyatte, a guy so hung up on looks, actually looks like? I guess we'll just have to wait for the Scotsman to dig something up.

Hyatte has always kinda struck me as a shut in type. I'm not sure if it's what he writes, how he writes it or just me reading in between the lines. That's the beauty of the internet though, you can be whoever you want to be until someone can prove otherwise.

The story itself wasn't offensive but it was very dull.
