If Oates can still play at top form, him on a line with Ryan Smyth could be very interesting. Even if Oates is completely out of shape, he's still one of the top 3 faceoff men in the game.

He's a good pickup, and should bring a lot to that team both in a statistical and a leadership sense. The bigger implication?
