Bought this last night at Suncoast and got ROBBED for $35.00 but I think it will be worth it. Tonight is the night I stay up all night anyhow, to get on my work sleep schedule, so at least I can watch something GOOD/GREAT instead of Sportcents 5 times.

Well while going through this great DVD I found a few "secrets" and wanted to pass them along. Note the great "porno" mustache on Tony Schivone.

    Disc 1
Go to chapters and highlight 'Barry Windham' and push RIGHT.
You will see a WCW promo from Flair on the TV Title, Magnam TA, Nikita Koloff, and Buddy Landell.

    Disc 2
Go to chapters and highlight 'Day in the life of a Horseman' and push left. You will see a WCW promo from Flair on Jimmy Garvin, Freebirds, and the Boston Celtics?

Go to chapters and highlight 'Main' and push right.
You will see a WCW promo from Flair about Dusty Rhodes.

    Disc 3

Highlight 'Play' and push left. You will highlight the WWE logo, click enter and you will be see a promo from Flair on the 'Greatness of the Horseman', Freebirds, and the Road Warriors.

Go to chapters, go to 'Special night in Greenville', then under those selection highlight 'Main' and push right 2 times and you will highlight the beer can in Flairs hand, and click enter. You will see Ric Flair's TitanTron video minus the WOO!)

Go to chapters, go to 'Special night in Greenville' and then highlight 'Final Nitro' and push left 2 times.
You will brought to a video pacakge on where "WOO!" came from along with current WWE stars and crew yelling the famous "WOO!"
(I think this is the best Easter Egg I have ever found on a WWE DVD)

There is one Easter Egg I wish they had thrown in: When Barry Windham has interview time on Saturday Night in January '87, he mentions he was out there watching Tim Horner and Tully Blanchard go 22 minutes in a TV Title match. I, along with 5 or 6 other people throughout the world, wish they had included Tully and White Lightning going 22 minutes. With those two in '87, it probably was a 4 star match.
Of course the scary thing about the Easter Egg old Flair interviews is that although no date is provided, I can guess within 1 week the timeframe in which they aired. At the same time, I can barely remember the RAW or SD main events 2 days after they occur.

Watching the Rumble on that tape made me remember why Gorilla/Heenan was the best play by play team ever. Sigh.

I think it's the whole match....

Gorilla and Heenan or Gorilla and Jesse, either one is good for me. My personal favorite in the Rumble is when Heenan begins barganing with God to let Flair win-

"I promise I'll never do anything bad again...."

It's the whole thing. It's great b/c Gorilla is goading Heenan the whole time. The Barbarian comes down to the ring, and Monsoon says "You know, Brain, Barbarian doesn't like Flair all that much...". The best is when Piper attacks someone that is beating up Flair. Heenan says "Thank you Piper. I was always wrong about you. It's a kilt, not a skirt!" Three seconds later Piper goes after Flair and Heenan says "You lousy skirt wearing jerk!" Priceless.

Also I might add that they are back to using the original crowd noise. When Sid eliminates Hogan, the place goes apeshit. The WWE redubbed the soundtrack to make it look like they booed Sid rather than cheering him.

I have to say I think Ross and Heenan's albeit too brief teaming in the WWF was the best announce team ever (particularly for the the surreal Flair/Michaels v.s. Bret/Savage tag match).

Ross in his prime and Heenan individually were two of the three best ever to call a match (just below Solie), but no one has ever had the magic as a combo that Bobby did with Gorilla. It was like the very best comedy troupes, where the straight guy would set him up perfectly and the funny one would hit a home run with it every time. It was pure pain to listen to Heenan with Schiovane because he had no idea how to do a set-up and on the rare instances he got it right he'd flub the payoff because he hated being the brunt of the joke (the irony being his inability to do is the reason he's been the punchline for almost any joke told about wrestling announcers ever since).

I HONESTLY may not have become a wrestling fan were it not for Bobby and Gorilla cracking me up so much every week while I was still learning to appreciate it.

Hey guys, I just got the DVD for my bro yesterday, and he loves it (disc 1 especially the Race segments). He doesn't even know about the easter eggs, but he totally dug it. I'm watching the 92 Royal Rumble right now, I haven't seen it in YEARS. God, I miss Gorilla and The Brain...

I have to be honest, I grill the crap out of WWE in the last few months, but it was the bookers and writers. But the one thing that has endured fortunately for us all is the SUPERB production team. I hope they get Christmas bonuses after they learn of the sales of this bad boy. They have to shine shit on a weekly basis, making them the unsung heroes of the WWE.

They did a bang-up job on the 20+ year old footage. Considering the age of the older material, The folks behind the DVD make it look as good as gold (or diamonds). I think we can all agree that the format of the DVD is great too, with the buildup to the classic matches, then the matches in their entireties, smart move also. Like I said, the Harley Race highlights on Disc 1 as well as Disc 3 with "The Real World Champion" is the best stuff.

3 DVDs are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Naitch, so I smell a sequel. Now, let's see some Hitman!

They always come out here about two months after the US. The Trish DVD was released today, for example. January 27, 2004 is the release date as per amazon.ca

The Flair DVD is so awesome, I hope Volume II comes out now... here's some stuff I'd like to see: WARGAMES (from 1987 or 1991), v. Scott Steiner, v. Randy Savage, v. Bret Hart, v. Perfect, v. Vader, v. Steamboat in '94, the 45-minute draw w/ Sting, v. Arn Anderson from Fall Brawl 1995).

I think part of the reason some of this stuff didn't make it was because they were trying to make the whole thing one long flowing program, which works, but they don't have to do that. They could just release a disc with a bunch of matches on it and make billions.

Flair/Anderson v. the Blondes, forgot that one, that'd be awesome to. From 1993. And don't forget Luger, and what the heck, some of his TV stuff with Brian Pillman.
