Holy Hogwarts! Harry Potter to Be Spoofed on Film
Credit: Yahoo!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The world's most famous boy wizard is about to be irreverently and thoroughly spoofed with bathroom humor and innuendo.

MGM studios said on Friday it had bought the script of "Henry Bates and the Sorcerer's Balls" -- a comic parody of both the hugely popular "Harry Potter (news - web sites)" and "Lord of the Rings" series.

Out go the Hobbits and Gandalf the good wizard and in come the Bobbits, who are under an evil sexual spell, and the good wizard Gandolfini who battles the bad wizard Enron.

Henry Bates attends a school called the St Buggerers Academy for Boys and One Girl, and sets out on a quest to regain his kingdom -- the Land of Middlefinger.

The script was written by the anarchic U.S. team of Tim Stack, James R. Stein and David Morgasen who were responsible for the television series "Son of the Beach" -- a parody of the hit sex and swimsuit series "Baywatch."

"It is irreverent but we are fans of the books and the movies. We think people will get a kick out of this," Morgasen told Reuters. The writers are hoping to keep the script clean enough to earn a PG-13 rating.

There have been no decisions yet on casting but MGM is expected to move quickly given the short shelf-life of the idea.

"The Return of the King" -- the third and final part of the "The Lord of the Rings" series -- is due to reach movie theaters next month. The third of seven potential "Harry Potter" installments -- "The Prisoner of Azkaban" -- is scheduled to be released in June next year.

Just seems to copy other "spoof" movies but I see good ol J.K. trying to stop the movie.

I wouldn't blame JK for wanting to stop it, if it's done by the same people who did "Son of the Beach". That show was AWFUL.

Hell, I'd rather have the Wayans brothers do it.

Henry Bates. Oh, I get it, they can refer to him as "Master Bates." Ah ha ha that's brilliant. Man oh man. *slaps knee*

Oddly enough, the press release doesn't mention Stern, since he was also created with getting "beach" on the air.

This just sounds like a watered down version of the horrible Seduction Cinema movie "lord of the g-strings."

I loved Stack in "Night Stand, with Dick Detrict" (sp)

It was a great spoof of Springer/Jones/Trash-type talk shows.

If ANYONE can take "Master Bates" jokes and make them hilarious, it's Tim Stack.

His never ending "Dick" jokes on "Nightstand" ALWAYS worked, and never grew tired. I have no idea HOW, since they're incredibly lame, but his delivery and personality made 'em work.

A joke that was old 20 years ago when it was used in Richard Pryor's cinematic classic, "The Toy"

In other news, I've seen trailers for both Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Both movies look and sound awesome. This film, however, does not.

I was thinking that I was the only one who had ever seen Night Stand. No one I talked to had ever heard of it. I was a big fan of the show as well. Maybe it was because it aired late at night, but it was a funny show.
