What an absoulte crazy week. Giants gets creamed at home vs. the pathetic Falcons. The Vikings losing huge in San Diego... Indy getting beat out by the Jags late. Even Seattle losing to the RedSkins can be considered an upset.

The only heavily favored team to come through was KC beating Cleveland... I guess the football gods just don't want a full Wienerboard survivor league LoL

So what did you guys considered this weeks biggest upset... And which team is going to really get this past week come back to burn and cost them?

I personally kept an eye on the Giants/Falcons game. The Giants dominated the first half, but just couldn't score points. They would turn over or get sacked just outside of field goal range to come out pointless... This game took them out of the playoffs.

Didn't happen on a Sunday, but...I got a feeling last night's loss at home (again), this time to Philly, is what does the Packers in. We had a chance to get within 1 game of those purple SOBs in the NFC North...and blew it. Still 2 back...

*mutters and throws back another Jack Daniel's*

And next, the Cirque de Sapp at Raymond James. The Packers have never, eeeeeeeeever won in that damned pirate ship.

As much as it pains me to say it...
...if it was going to happen any year, this would be the one. It depends on if Jekyll or Hyde shows up for the Bucs, though.

This week proved beyond a shadow of a doubt how far the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has fallen. they went from being arguably the best of all time to a unit that can't stop Jake Delhomme. The Panthers are the best team in the NFC by far. If Dallas can come in to Foxboro and beat the Pats, then they'll be for real.

Like I said, the Panthers are the best team in the NFC.

I'm not sure what it is, perhaps Ed Donatell's brain turns back into a pumpkin at 11pm? BLITZ, DAMMIT, BLITZ!!!

You got a gift with that bomb that was caught out of bounds, and with McNabb's horrible clock handling. For Christ sakes, BLITZ!!!

If I can't kick Dontell in the nuts, I at least want him fired. Preferably before the end of the season, but I'll take what I can get.

****sigh**** 6 fumbles and low score aside...why scrap a defense that had been solid all game with such a proven winner as the prevent???

I have yet to understand the logic behind the prevent defense. What is the purpose of the defense? It does prevent the defense from giving up big plays but allows the offense to walk right down the field. It makes you wonder how smart the defensive coordinators really are.

That was actually GREAT clock handling - it left the Pack with NO time.

The sad part is that it never should have come to that. All we needed was ONE first down (okay, maybe two), the Eagles expected three handoffs to Green, we RAN three handoffs to Green, we didn't get the first down, we gave them the ball back.

Not to mention Longwell's first miss all year....straight but short. Watching this game KILLED me. No, really, even now I'm posting from BEYOND THE GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE

Actually, it was two handoffs to Green then a screen pass to William Henderson, which I thought was a GREAT call but Favre didn't hit Henderson in stride and he was stopped short of the first down.

Longwell recently commented on how his golf game has helped his kicking. He's not concentrating on hitting every kick at 100% (ala golf drives), rather he's working at giving every kick an 80% swing. The theory is that you don't overswing and get wild, you just give it enough to comfortably cross the crossbar. Unfortunately, it looks like he underestimated the conditions for that kick.

Actually, the Patriots game has far less meaning for Dallas than next week when they play Carolina, as that game could; can't believe I'm saying it, be for the 1 seed in the NFC. Carolina has the division clinched barring one of the worst collapses ever (3 up on Tampa and the Saints, with the tie-breaker meaning they have to lose 4 games), and a win against Dallas coupled with there unbeaten conference record would put them in the drivers seat for the NFC Championship to go through Erickson Stadium.

Why?

Oh I know...because of other players fumbles that forced him to try and be the hero again...no wait that's not it.

Oh...because our defensive coordinator puts out a high school defensive plan to protect a lead...no that wouldn't be it either.

There is no quarterback in the league that I'd replace Favre with. In my mind he's welcome to start until he either croaks or has as many pins and false parts as Lynn Dickey.

Uh, the guys thumbs taped up, its raining, hes facing (even allowing for injuries) one of the best secondaries in football. It was never gonna be easy.

The guy that led the other team down the pitch to put the Pack behind had MUCH worse games early in the season when his thumb was bad and yet he's come back just dandy the last couple of weeks.

Hell the only fumble of his I can remember us managing to recover was in the last second when it didnt matter. And the INT was just a great play by Wayne.

Much more importantly, I'm delighted that over at the Eagles website (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/default1.jsp) a whopping 22.8% of us Iggles think the most important aspect of Shockey's injury is the fact that we'll miss out on the opportunity to boo him. Ain't we just adorable ;)

I'd still take Favre over more than 90% of the QBs in the league.

I took Favre over 100% of all the other QBs in the league. It's put me in 16th place.

-Jag

But that's what I get for picking somebody I think will be good, rather than picking somebody who plays for a team I like.
