I'm just gonna steal a little from a WWA PPV Recap...

"Zbysko gives the fans a "history" lesson by talking about the old WWWF, and Vince McMahon senior. Because Vince McMahon senior let his company rise to the top, the WWWF was the premire company of its time. After he died his legacy was passed on and led by Vince McMahon Jr. Vince McMahon junior is not a classy aristocratic individual like his father, he is a very bitter resentful individual. Vince had always wanted to be a wrestler but Vince Sr. didnt want him to because he thought he couldn't take it.

Zbysko says that Vince Jr. doesnt let the cream rise to the top, and Larry is proud to say that he never was in Vince's organization, and he is proud to be here in the WWA because everyone here has respect for the wrestlers and want "the cream" to rise to the top. Zbysko rips on Vince McMahon some more and talks about how Chris Jericho is too short to be a "living legend".

It's time for Vince McMahon Jr. to reach out his arm, open his hand, to accept Zbysko's challenge, and to accept his one way ticket to Larry-land and stand across the ring from THE Living Legend! Zbysko challenges Vince McMahon!"

What is wrong with this guy? Does he really thing that Chris Jericho is stealing his thunder by calling himself a "Living Legend"? Don't flatter yourself Zbysko. And what is up with disgruntled wrestlers challenging Vince McMahon to fights? How annoying is that?

You're talking about a guy that would stand up and do his wave whether anyone was chanting his name on Nitro or not.

I think people are totally underestimating Larry's challenge here. This is really going to set the world on fire. Moreso than Bischoff's challenge to McMahon and Goldberg's challenge to Austin COMBINED! I wouldn't be surprised to see this talked about on all the morning talk shows come tomorrow. And as for Vince, I bet he's in the WWF training facility right now, because he takes every one of these challenges deadly serious. And it is a good thing he is training because Zybisco can NOT be taken lightly. He's a crafty veteran with more than one good fight left in him. Maybe after Vince he can take out that little Chris Jericho guy. He could "stretch" him too! He'd be no match for the REAL Living Legend!

Larry's just trying to generate some buzz . . . it's hard to ignore the WWF if you're a fledging promotion like WWA . . .

Or maybe it's part of the process to bring him into the WWF to feud with Scott Hall again? lol

Yes, but you HAVE to!

Mentioning the WWF, or bad talking their champion is just like saying "Hey! Lookit us! We're number two! Why aren't you watching the other guys show?"

The WWF fell into the same trap, but they had the money to recover. WCW did it too, but they didn't have the backing of their owner.

Zybysko and WWA look like clowns. They're trying to get themselves over on the WWF's name, which just makes them seem like stupid amatuers.

Ironic. Zbyszko isn't exactly tall himself. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Jericho was indeed taller than Larry, from everything I remember about Larry.

Ack. I understand the "try to make a buzz" sentiment, but at least Larry could've ran what what he was going to say by someone else beforehand. I mean...

1. Larry stole the "Living Legend" moniker, so he should shut up about it already. The business is built on plagiarism/recycling. Deal with it, ot at least don't be a hypocrite.

2. Compare "here in the WWA because everyone here has respect for the wrestlers and want 'the cream' to rise to the top" with "Chris Jericho is too short to be a 'living legend'. " So everone stands a chance, except the short guys, who by this logic cannot cut it because of their size? Bad luck to most of the guys in the WWA then, who are on the most part smaller than their WWF counterparts.

3. Challenging anyone from another promotion is stupid.

OK, I'm nitpicking, but if the WWA really wants to compete they need to cut out this kind of juvenile crap. If you're going to bash the WWF on live TV then have structured points worth saying, for instance, compare this with any time ECW knocked the WWF on TV. I wholeheartedly agree with Excalibur05's point that mentioning the competition is like screaming "We're number 2!" which is exactly why these things should be handled carefully so as to not end up damaging yourself. Take Scavione's "won't put asses on seats" comment that just drove fans to turn over and watch Foley's title win as evidence. These things rarely work, and letting some guy with an agenda do that kind of thing was just so short sighted.

The problem is that the WWA is bringing up the WWF, like they could actually rival them. But at the same time, everone watching the PPV is thinking if these guys were really stars, they would be in the WWF.

They should go for being a WWF-alternative, not a WWF rival. But Larry is a bitter man so why should any of us be surprised.

Chris Jericho is NOT 6' tall. Here's the logic chain leading me to this. Chris Jericho is not more than an inch or two taller than Chris Benoit, if that much. I met Chris Benoit last may, and when he walked past me I shook his hand and we both were standing face to face. Or I should say face to neck/chin. I was about 5 inches taller than him, and my friend was about 1-2 inches shorter than him. I am 6'2, my friend is 5'7", so I'm calling Benoit 5'9 1/2" to be generous. Without the big lifts on the shoes, Jericho is NOT almost 3 inches taller than Benoit. However, is still a hell of a lot cooler than Larry Z.

I never watched a lot of AWA/NWA stuff, but was Larry even that much of a Ledgend. I'm mean I'd heard of him before his Nitro stint and all. There's a lot of names that pop into my head before Larry Z, A LOT. So, what's the deal is he just a midcarder turned annoccer that had his career blown up by being a color commentator and feuding with the nWo, or was he really ever a somebody?

Oh yeah, I bet Jericho puts a little extra mustard on the phrase 'Living :Ledgend' tonight.

Well, Larry did hold the AWA World title, but he won it in a battle royal, and that was towards the dying days of the AWA. It's not like he was on top during their heyday. And the whole Living Legend thing for him came because he was the original Living Legend's (Bruno Samartino) protoge, and turned on him. I think it was in the early 80s, and Larry gave him the steel chair treatment, which was a big deal then. So to add heat to the fued he stole the nickname. So his whole Living Legend gimmick was based on him stealing it from somebody else even though he really wasn't a legend. So of course he has EVERY right to be upset that someone else is now using HIS name (heavy sarcasm there).

I only really saw Larry's WCW stuff after the AWA collapsed in the early 90s. He was all right, but 'boring' was probably the best word to describe him. The only thing I really enjoyed from him was his tag team with Arn Anderson. As the Enforcers they won the tag titles, and held them for a few months. They were good as an old-school heel team. He was always a heel until he was an announcer and fueded with Steven (William) Regal over the TV title (I think he won it from him and held it a few weeks before dropping it back), with the NWO (against Hall) and he was also supposed to fued with NWO flunky Louie Spicoli, but Louie died before the match- Larry made some inappropriate comment about him on the Nirto after his death and eventually had to apologize. So as you can see he is a real CLASS act, making fun of recently deceased co-workers and all. How he got to the point where people would chant his name during Nitro, I have NO idea. Maybe instead of an applause sign WCW had a "LARRY!" sign. 'Cause he certainly wasn't a good enough announcer for peodple to chant his name. So no, if I had a list of wrestling "legends" I don't think Larry would be anywhere near the top.

Eh, it seems as though another over-the-hill 'star' is trying to grab a small sliver of spotlight. Little does he realize that the world has passed him by and he is nothing more than a small link to a forgotten past.

There was one point where Larry was saying that Vince Jr. WANTED so bad to be a wrestler but couldn't.

Did anyone else hear someone in the croud say "YA. BUT HE CAN KICK YOUR ASS."

I was like, umm who couldn't.

I heard that too. That was the greatest heckling since Vince said "I've made some bad business decisions before" and someone in the crowd yelled "THE X-F-L!!"

The frightening thing about all of this is that he want's to take Vince McMahon to Larry-land. Am I the only one who always thought Larry-land was the place Zbysco watched his animal porn and masturbated?

And how in the hell is a boring guy like Larry Zbysco a living legend anyway? Hell, compare him to other legends from his generation:

Ric Flair
Superstar Billy Graham
Bruno Sammartino

Those three names should prove my point.
