In his latest 1Wrestling update, Dave has this to say:

Speaking of McMahons, if you go to the splash page of, for just 45 dollars, you can order your very own Shano O Mac shirt/jersey. I dont even know what to say to that, I really dont.

What the hell does that mean? Does he think $45 is overpriced? Is he surprised that Shane has merchandise? What the hell?? Shane is a quite popular on-air performer as far as "normal" fans are concerned so it makes sense for him to have merchandise. It's like he's just digging for ways to bash them now. Every little thing is yet another example of how they're burying the company. Oh boy, Shane has a jersey you can buy. WWE will go under in two months!! I'm so sick of it.

Other than 1W being in bed with NWA:TNA and their previous relationship with WCW, has anyone figured out what the hell their problem is with McMahon/WWE yet?

I've been blaming it all on the "Media ban" from a couple years ago so far, which is when I think it turned really ugly, but it cant all be from that, can it?

on the topic of the merchandise, Shopzone always sells their jerseys for $45. I know this since they put out pretty cool jerseys especially their Wrestlemania ones and the Hurricane one they had out recently. The best part is, in about 3 or 4 months, they're all priced down by 50%.

And I think there's alot of Shane marks out there who'd like to have a Shane-O-Mac jersey. At the height of the InVasion, I wanted one badly. I still want one but $45 is a bit much for me (i'm cheap, sue me).

Besides, you can't deny it, the Kane/Shane segments were/are getting pretty good QH ratings in the last couple of months.

I don't know, but if your crazy enough to lay down 45 dollars for a Shane McMahon jersey you might just be crazy enough to believe anything said on that...'site.' Now what a prediciment that would be, the cure for which I could not imagine.

Well now isn't this interesting...

What have long been the complaints about pushing the McMahons? They don't work house shows and they don't sell merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be on TV because the full time wrestlers do both.

I wonder if Scherer will be clarifying his opinion on Shane McMahon now that he has been working house shows for more than a month and is apparently selling merchandise or, in other words, is fulfilling most if not all of the requirements of a full time wrestler (for the time being, at least).

Seriously, though, what have they got to lose? If they think they've got a popular character out there, why not try and sell some shirts with the guy's name on them? So what if the royalties go to Shane rather than to another wrestler; if it sells, it's the right decision. The company's job isn't ultimately to do what's right for every wrestler, but to maximize it's own bottom line. It's never really been tried before, and if they're gonna put Shane on TV every week they might as well find out how much money there is to be made with him.

The problem with a Shane McMahon jersey is that it shouldn't be of Shane, it should be the jersey of another wrestler with a clever Shaneism on it. X-PUNK. SHANE 6:32. WRESTLEMANIA X8 - VINCE WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

thecubsfan hit the nail right on the head.

Besides 1bullshits allegiances to all things non-WWF in the past, this is most likely another example of bashing for the sake of bashing.

I've been guilty of bashing WWE myself in the past but I always tried to keep an air of humor to it. Nitpicking every little nuance about the W's is hacky and absolutely uncreative writing.

I'd think if you prided yourself on being a "journalist" you'd try to be more fair to the product over all. Is there stupid horse shit in the WWE? Absolutely. We all make fun of things that Vince and company force down our throats that merits criticism (Necrophilia, Nathan Jones etc.) but at the root of it all we're still fans. If we weren't we certainly wouldn't be having this convo right now.

Scherer and company have turned into the IWC version of the Howard Stern show where it's core audience seems demand that certain type of schtick.

Of course this is all just my opinion.

Damn that WWE for offering merchandise to its customers. And no less, merchandise patterned after one of the few faces on Raw that gets a decent crowd reaction. Damn them!!!

I mean, I know it's not as exciting a product as the Macho Man CD, Goldberg action figures or whatever softcore porn is peddling at the moment, so why would they even TRY to sell products????

Stupid lousy going-out-of-business-any-day-now WWE.

Personally, I find the Austin F*ck Fear Women's T-shirt to be far more amusing.

In a darkly comedic way, of course...

You're forgetting the obvious reason: WWE doesn't realize that Paul Heyman has the miracle cure for all of WWE's woes, so 1wrestling hates WWE for it.

Or, that's at least how Scherer comes off with the way he talks about Heyman. Granted, Heyman has his strengths, but with Scherer, it comes off as idol worship.
