| #1 Posted on 4.11.03 1740.44 Reposted on: 4.11.10 1743.17 | As previously mentioned (The W), Nintendo has finally announced (biz.yahoo.com) a new Gamecube bundle, which includes a disc containing the original Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a demo of Wind Waker. However, since this disc *may* be of interest to current 'Cube owners, Nintendo has made it available to them, too. One way to get it is to register your Gamecube and two of the following titles: Mario Party 5, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, or 1080 Avalanche at http://www.nintendo.com/zeldaclassic. The other way to get it is to subscribe or renew to Nintendo Power at http://www.nintendopower.com/zelda.
I can't say I like the ways of getting the disc. I don't want a year of Nintendo Power, and while I plan to get Double Dash, the only other game I *might* be willing to get is Superstar Saga. (I guess it would be the cheapest of the four). However, if I look at the disc as costing the same as a year's subscription of Nintendo Power, and if I get the disc I get a free year of the magazine, then it doesn't seem so bad. EDIT: wait, why no Zelda 3!?!

Link to the Past has already been rereleased for the GBA. If you really want to play it on your 'Cube, get yourself a GBA Player, and you're all set. | drjayphd

And Ocarina of Time, along with Master Quest, was already rereleased directly for the Gamecube. However, it's coming back on this disc.
At that, where's the love for Link's Awakening?
Seriously, if you want to hook the gamers, blitz off Zelda 2 and Majora's Mask. Pop on 3 and Link's Awakening, and that way you have a disc that has Zelda games representing every Nintendo system they appeared on. | Guru Zim

But I'm still going to have to get the magazine now, because I don't know that I'm getting two of those games. Maybe M&L - Double Dash for sure. | CRZ

You're NOT getting a "Mario Party" game?! I don't believe you | Guru Zim

Although that would have its merits, I'm going to guess it doesn't make sense from a disc space standpoint. Assuming that you need to have an emulator on the disc for each system you are representing, its easier to have two games per emulator, and represent two systems, than it is to have one game per emulator and represent four. Its very possible that the reason that we got the games we got is that this was the combination of games that they could fit on one disc. (Don't forget, there's also two Zelda documentaries on the disc as well.)
Besides, all the GameBoy games are still backwards compatible with the GBA, so again, if you wanted to play Link's Awakening on your 'Cube, get a GBA Player. | reddragon

It should be able to buy as a mega collection like what they did when they released all of sonic's mega drive games on one disc with some bonus material (althrough that sonic game should have been put together better) But if this is released i would buy it | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
