And I thought that Dave Barry bit about France declaring war on itself (and losing) wouldn't actually HAPPEN. Maybe if they want people to stop mocking them, they should stop giving us material. | PalpatineW

| #4 Posted on 30.10.03 0736.19 Reposted on: 30.10.10 0736.27 | I didn't vote for Ronald Regan or agree with most of his policies, but I admired him for several things. Chief among them was his sense of humor and self-depracating manner. He could poke fun at himself and get a chuckle when he was the object of jokes. He may not have liked it privately but he at least knew how to respond in public. One of the things I like least about neo-conservatives (and the neo-liberals) is their inability to poke fun at themselves and take a joke. Hyperbole such as on the Simpsons doesn't hurt them but actually makes them look less wacky. This is as dumb as the Al Franken controversy. | calvinh0560

Remember their motto, "Fair and balanced." Suing yourself only makes sense. Or maybe they really are as pompus and myopic as they appear on TV. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
