If not that, it certainly sounded like Matt had lost it after hearing the truth and was trashing the place ...

this and matt's tone of voice are what led me to believe that the reveal or ending would be some kind of semi-cataclysmic event. the 'somebody's not who they say they are' line was pretty good, but then after the hutch admitted he was a fake the reveal of the rest just went by too fast. it became almost instantaneous and didn't give matt any time to think about it. i think if they did the reveal a bit slower or more deliberately and he was able to process the tiny pieces we would've gotten quote unquote 'better' reactions.

Press Clipping from my local fishwrap -The finale of The Joe Shcmoe Show helped spike Spike TV's ratings with 3.4 million viewers Tuesday night- their highest-rated original episode since September of 2000, when the network was known as TNN... The bump made Spike the No. 2 W.S cable net on the night, behind only TNT and ahead of USA in the cable arena and agead of both The WB and UPN among 18-49-year-old viewers. Who is the real Joe Schmo? All those Canadian networks chiefs who passed on the series-

I'm actually really happy for them, that show deserved to do well. A unique concept that was pulled off really well, which is rare these days in TV.

The show for 2 months was great, it's really hard to have an ending the surpasses how good th show was to the point. I thought the ending was fine, it wasn't really over the top, but it stayed true with the heart the show had that attracted me to it.

Matt was such a great guy for it, Hutch was amazing, how he kept weasling his way throughout the contest and always hanging in by a thread and winning it. Matt congradulating him when he thought it was legit but when the secret was out he says his true feeling "I'm so happy this a-hole didn't win" LoL Hutce was such a heel for me when the Dr. Pat story hit I even went "No! Not with Dr. Pat"... Ashleigh really grew on me as the show went on, and all the other players were very good and interesting.

The second hour aftermath was cool as well going through some of the highlights and getting Matt's reaction... As someone who just doesn't watch much TV at all. This really grabbed my attention.

Kinda strange it being on for only a couple of months, but I was really sad to see it end... I'm sure they are going to try a Joe Schmo 2, I just don't know if you can find the formula and the heart this show had.

Loved the Joe Schmo show. Hopefully the producers will put the series on DVD with afterthoughts from Matt and the actors.

I've been listening to some archived radio interviews with some of the cast and Brian suggested on a couple of occasions sending a request to Spike for a DVD box set. There's a comment area right off the main Spike page.

I'm hoping for some additional interviews and a commentary track, myself.

How about an uncensored version with deleted scenes, too? That would rawk.

I don't know how they'll top this one. I think they shouldn't make a sequel, as it'll never live up to the original.

Forget the DVD ... Starting this Tuesday, Spike TV will be airing "Just Mo' Schmo", which is basically reruns of all the episodes with the added bonus of Matt himself providing DVD-style commentary on every scene.

Heck, I'll watch that.

apologies for the delayed response

The handgun and other violence related situations
sound like some of the pranks done on Scare Tactics
like lost children, dead people in freezer, psycho
actor, etc. That's only effective once, although
the Dr. Pat sumo injury scene was kinda close to that
too.
