The fire is up to Highway 52 and Santo road. Santo road runs south 1 mile to Friars road. We live 2 blocks south of Friars. Shit is hitting the fan, and we're bracing to leave. We will be good, but it looks like my work may burn down. I haven't called in for the last 2 hours but I couldnt get an IT guy 2 hours ago, so I hope they have evacuated completely. Fucking A. How long is unemployment good for, anyway? You think I can call AFLAC right now and get covered? Promote this thread!

Y!: # 5 Posted on 26.10.03 1558.19 Reposted on: 26.10.10 1558.44 Yeah, it looks like some of my family might have to evac (a bit north of Guru, though) from the Simi Valley area. Fortunately, my mother seems to be unaffected as of yet. And those pictures? Downright scary; if this wasn't such a potentially dangerous situation, I'd say they were beautiful, though. Such a contrast.

Good luck. If you haven't bailed yet, you might want to go ahead & corner the cat, before he/she freaks. I trust you've got someplace to evacuate to. (If not, PM me & I'll make some calls.) Eeesh.

Ocean Beach is pretty far from the fire - your friend should be ok.
