Honestly, this is not a diss on CRZ, but man do you dislike the WWF that much right now. I loved Smackdown. I mean I have been waiting for an Austin beatdown on the NWO since the Monday Night Wars. Sure, it may seem a bit early, but it sets up the fact that Austin is not like any other person they have faced. It was great.

Lately, CRZ, you have been almost Scott Keith like (I can kiss my membership good bye now). You are the anti-smark, Chris. You are the one guy we all enjoy getting our newscaps from, because you are a fan. If you don't feel like doing this anymore, than don't.

A Fan- Man, I hate group therapy, but someone had to say this.

Oh, good Lord. I don't qualify as a smark to any great extent, and I thought Smackdown was awful. Why should Austin be "not like any other person they have faced?" What is so special about him? Why does he have to be freakin' Superman? They spent half the damn show doing nothing but recapping Raw and following Steve around. I should have watched the figure skaters instead.

I may not be a smark, but I know a little about what makes good drama (or good soap opera) and that was NOT it. One against three, and one comes out on top? So much for the "poison", or for anyone other than Steve to get any kind of a rub from this angle. If you're the biggest Stone Cold mark ever born, then I suppose that was a dream come true, but for the rest of the world, it stunk. What do you do to top this for the PPV? Shoot them all dead?

They lost all sense of balance or of menace from the NWO in service of someone's ego (or so it seems to me) and they will have to work very hard to reignite the heat before WM. Just for the record, my husband agreed with me, and he's less of a smark than I am. CRZ nailed this one in the bullseye.

The bigger problem was all the recapping and the lack of wrestling. Like you said, he's a fan, of WRESTLING, not reruns.

I'm sorry but in terms of smarkyness, no one can touch Scott Keith. He's lightyears ahead of everyone. Let me put it this way, if SK played basketball, he would be Michael Jordan. That's a good analogy.

Well he was kind of rude when I showed up and humbley asked for mutual respect and friendship between sites. Anyway if he's bashing Smackdown I would partially agree. If I throw out all intelligence and watch as a marc than cool superhero Steve Austin get's revenge on those dastardly n.W.o. Chuck and Billy win the tag belts. Got a Edge vs. Christian match which is always good and Christian is up to something per his "I quit" angle.

All is good. However once I take off the rose colored glasses and take in the smarkish view it becomes very lame.

I'm sick and tired of Steve Austin. His "What" catchprase is already boring and he's now wearing it out. He no sells worse than Taker (three finishers than jumps up COME ON)and it is utterly ridiculous to have a seven foot behemoth like Kevin Nash running like he just wet his panties. Not to mention the greatest Icon in wrestling and Razor f'n Ramon.

Just stupid really. I'm not bragging when I say this but it is the truth. I have scripted many fantasy feds that blow the WWF creative team out of the water.

That's embarrassing.

Now it's not a total loss. The Jericho/Steph "Bidness" relationship is a great spin however I would have created romance over two shows than the partnership. That way it would have more zing when Steph pulls the swerve at WM and get's back with HHH.

Anyway...............CRZ still has his smile. He just needs to register at my G damn forum.

You too dammit. ;} Shameless plugs masked as wrestling commentary rule.

Good Grief. I thought telemar(c)(k)eters were bad. "Let's pretend to be all buddy buddy while I tell you are wrong. But that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing. Obviously, you'd enjoy it as much or more at my site. I do, or why else would I be here?"

:p

You know with the word marc, it's one of those things that a spell checker wouldn't help Mr. Perfect with. Oh wait, that has no place here either.

Actually why is "Has CRZ lost his smile?" in the wrestling section to begin with (Oh, oh I opened myself up to the Shawn Michaels story)

P.S. Just so I'm not totally off topic, here's my opinion on the subject. Maybe he's like George Harrison of the Beatles who was quoted as answering the question, "Why don't you smile" with "It makes my lips hurt".

I think CRZ has every right to bitch, piss and moan if he wants to.

He's recapping a wrestling show with no wrestling. Sorry, but that's a no-no.

He didn't say that.

Listen up you.........yeah.........

Norman?

BWAHAHAHAA

Anyway, I type fast and could care less about my spelling. Only true internet geeks grammar flame but I digress.

CRZ is fine like I said above. He's not a m-a-r-k so there is no way he can do a recap without ranting just a little at the non-storylines.

Example. Trish goes in to the Rocks dressing room to thank him for his heroic actions. They have a romantic kiss and the roof comes off the place. Really tied in the growing female market.

Instead of creating a storyline that grew the relationship and had Rock being put into peril trying to keep Trish safe it lasted a week.

Austin likes Vince, Austin Hates Vince, Austin likes Vince. I know it's like that in wrestling but it's been sped up to a ridiculous pace. I grew up watching Mid-South and Jerry Lawler turned heel like once in the ten or so years I watched. It was a HUGE deal. Now Austin,HHH,Angle,Taker go back and forth every week.

CRZ is just fine.

The product is what has lost it's smile along with suspense.

Yes, but when was the last time the WWF called it a "wrestling show?" They go out of their way to make sure it is a "Sports Entertainment" show, and that's what it is.

But yeah, I thought Smackdown! was just a tad over produced for my tastes (like the new camera angles from inside the truck Hogan was driving and stuff like that) this week. Smackdown! always gets the over the top Hollywood type stuff because they have time to edit it. The supermarket brawl with Austin and Booker is a good example of this. That's why I'm surprised that after the split that Smackdown! is supposed to be the wrestling-heavy show of the two. I would think they would keep it more of an entertainment type show so they can have a couple days of post-production.

The last time I can remember CRZ going off on a show like that was during the dark days of WCW. I don't think that Smackdown was NEARLY that bad.

But, Mr. Zimmerman is entitled to his opinion.

To answer why Austin is so special, I bring into the courtroom exhibit A: WWF Fall of 1997 to Summer of 1999. The WWF has built Austin up as the main guy in the WWF. The one man who can take on the NWO or any faction by himself. I am just glad the WWF decided to roll with it. Austin took on the Corporation, DX, the Ministry and the Corporate Ministry by himself, so I don't find to hard to believe he would go out and fight three guys. Come on, its just three guys.

If the WWF wants to get the NWO over, they need to give them more guys like X-Poc, Shawn and some others. As of right now, it makes sense that Austin alone would destroy them. He is the WWF Superman.

A Fan- Austin 3:16 says Truth, Justice and the Stone Cold way.

One problem with Exhibit A: I wasn't watching the WWF during 1997-99. [grin] I like Steve's promos, but I'm a long way from a Stone Cold mark.

A character like Super Steve unbalances all the storylines because he's built on too many points (for the RPGers out there). If he can defeat three main-eventers singlehanded, or the whole Alliance, for that matter--remember the brief face swerve and all those stunners?--then where's the jeopardy? What's the point of paying the NWO's salaries if they've just been turned into ordinary jobbers?

For comparison, imagine if Steve-o beat up Taker, Trip and Rocky all at once. Where do you go from there?
