I used to love Elliot Smith. As I grew older, the intense negativity of his lyrics began to turn me off, but the emotional impact of his music was always undeniable. The scene in Royal Tenenbaums where "Needle in the Hay" plays while Luke Wilson's character attempts suicide is completely devestating. Very sad and senseless that Elliot chose to go that way, too. I did a giant interview with him after XO came out and he was so fascinating and sweet and awesome once he got warmed up and comfortable. I was worried that he was going to go but I really didn't think he was going to go. Boo. | PalpatineW

I think watching the suicide scene in Royal Tennanbaums will be even more disturbing than it was before now :( | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
