Here (sfgate.com) is an article from Tuesday afternoon. Although still in critical condition, apparently Roy is conscious & able to communicate. There are comments in the article from Siegfried, who feels that the tiger became confused, & doesn't blame the tiger for acting instinctively. There's also a report that on the way to the hospital, Roy told the paramedics that he didn't want the tiger to be harmed. It's all very sad.

You're thinking of "Anastasia", the white tiger who snapped and shredded Gunter and Ernst at Mr. Burns' Casino. That was in "$pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)" (1F08).
I wonder if they will edit that out now.
