Bill Elliott makes the biggest jump in the standings from 19th to 13th with his second-place finish and bonus for leading the most laps. Ten racers are still mathematically eligible to win the championship, and Matt Kenseth needs to turn things around to avoid becoming only the second NASCAR champion to finish third using my points standings.
The top 20: 1. Ryan Newman - 274 2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. - 232 (1 win, 3 2nds, 5 3rds) 3. Matt Kenseth - 232 (1 win, 3 2nds, 3 3rds) 4. Kevin Harvick - 202 5. Jeff Gordon - 201 6.
