| #1 Posted on 1.10.03 1012.28 Reposted on: 1.10.10 1013.26 | So it appears that Spanky & Paul London have been teaming on a regular basis on the house show circuit and dark matches at the Smackdown tapings. This could be one of the greatest, most sickest tag teams ever if they are given the chance ... Give them a cool tag team name and BAM, you've got a great feud with Haas and Benjamin ...

I would go back to calling Spanky "Brian Kendrick," because we can't take a guy called "Spanky" seriously.
But the question is: Would the WWE let them use their full movesets, or would they get punchy-kicky on us? | thecubsfan

Eventually, everyone should get a push towards the title, for variety's sake if nothing else, but if the plan isn't to put London against Tajiri (or another heel champion) right away, it's best to bring him in attached to someone, either in a team or a feud, and since you're already using them as a team...
Spanky and Funaki worked great as a underdog babyface team, so I imagine Spanky and London would work well too against some heel teams. But if they're adding any more cruiserweights, they ought to add some unoffical Cruiserweight Tag Team titles.
They can't seem to build any feuds between Cruisers that don't involve titles, but another real set of belts wouldn't really help the muddle. | Mayhem

In a perfect world, Kidman would be able to get a reaction from the crowd from another finish (he looks like he doesn't trust the SSP and he's got a checkered history with it) and London could keep using his, and they might even run an angle off it, but that's incredibly unlikely. | Shem the Penman

Unfortunately, other than that, his moveset and look were pretty much Generic Cruiserweight #127. Unless they let him mix things up more on TV, he'd be hard to distinguish from Kidman -- shorter hair and that's it. | Toast Jr

Then you are missing the point of his whole gimmick! he's the ridiculously lovable underdog who no one takes seriously, but one day he'll earn their respect- you'll see!
As far as a tag team goes, I don't care - just as long as Spanky is on my TV in some capacity | madiq

Once the novelty wears off, Zach will probably be bumped down into a Josh Mathews type role where they keep him under contract just to keep him from catching on somewhere else.
As far as Spanky and London as a team, sure, why not? It's not as if having a regular tag team partner means you can't chase a singles title. Tag teams can be an effective way of getting guys on TV when there wouldn't be room for them as singles, so it would be nice to see this house show duo get translated into a TV slot. If they get a good response, who knows, it could warrant more time for them in the future as singles. | emma

A CW tag title? May I ask why? How many CW tag teams do you think they would have? They have enough trouble keeping a tag team division or a cruiserweight division going with enough depth, nevermind trying to combine the too. It might yield some good matches, but that doesn't warrant creating a championship. | Notorious F.A.B.

| #16 Posted on 2.10.03 0151.47 Reposted on: 2.10.10 0152.54 | Having been weined on The Rockers, I am all for the notion of putting two lightweights into a tag role. It makes sense, as there are plenty of singles wrestlers and it's easy for the lightweight guys to get lost in the shuffle, or, simply downplayed into a lower midcard level. The tag team divison has been wearing thin over the past few years, so hey, it really isn't that hard to get over considering the company.
As far as personality chemistry, why not go back to Old School Hart Foundation. London can be the straight shooter who is always cool, calm and collective. I can see Spanky getting an personality overhaul to fit the Loose Cannon role.

| #17 Posted on 2.10.03 0830.53 Reposted on: 2.10.10 0835.26 | Yeah, rather than create a cruiser tag title, just let the cruiser teams compete in the regular tag scene, especially if they're intent on only running 1 cruiser feud at any 1 time. With Los Guerreros on track to break up, that leaves them w/ only 3 teams - APA, Bashams, and TWGTT, w/ 2 of those teams as heels. Dropping a couple cruiser teams in the tag scene would freshen it up. | rvjgd

when i said "get rid of dead weight" I meant a talent trade /shipping off to with Raw and actually getting off their asses creatively. here are some proposed teams for a CW tag sitch. Spanky/London, Funaki/Dragon, Yang/Tajiri, Moore/Hurricane, Noble/Nidia (it could work), Rey/Kidman, Nunzio/Crowbar, Bashams ( i'm not positive, but i think they are both under 220). Even bringing in Pokerface and someone else real good like Chris Daniels or Frankie Kazarian would be cool. And in a dream world-move the Women's div over to SD and I could see Lita/Trish , Molly/Gail, and even Victoria/Ivory giving it a go. I know the whole idea is a stretch given the current state of McMahonamania, but I think the right combo of bookers/workers could do it. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
