I just wish it wasn't on opposite "Ed" now. Two of the shows my wife and I really enjoy together are now on opposite each other. Liked Smallville being on Tuesday better. | Freeway

I used to love Ed, but I think it really jumped the shark when they had to rush the slow build at the end of last season in fear of cancellation. ("Dear God, we have to get Carol & Ed together or the show won't be finished!!")
On the other hand, I loved how Smallville set everything up during the first season with the gradual build to everything. | A-MOL

I wasn't the biggest fan at first due to the amount of Dawson's Creek like interaction between the characters and the amount of time spent on Lana is ridiculous (No, please Lana, continue talking about the deaths of your parents and your jock ex-boyfriend while I put this noose over my head...) but there is a lot going for it, especially with the Luthor's. | cranlsn

It's kind of like a "What If?" version of the Superboy of old.
There are some "Dawson's Creek" moments as stated above, and they seem to have gotten away from the "villain of the week" mode that they started with as well.
The guest shot by Christopher Reeve was memorable, as it also hinted at the Superman movie music during that episode as well. Very cool.
All in all, I think it's very well done. My only problem is that it's now opposite Enterprise. As my wife likes neither, I now have to have 2 VCR's going. Oh well... | Scooter Trash

| #6 Posted on 30.9.03 0929.48 Reposted on: 30.9.10 0932.52 | My girlfriend and I are looking forward to Wednesday night television with Angel and Smallville. We've been watching Smallville from the beginning and really enjoy it. Though we have never really watched Angel, she was a Buffy freak and the return of Spike has got her foaming at the mouth.
I'm a comic book geek from days of old, so every now and then I'll point out something from the comic book that is not meshing with the show. She just pats me on the head and says, "That's nice." She enjoys it for what it is, having never been into comics at any point in her life.
Which I think really says alot about the show. Comic book fans and non comic book fans enjoy the story that they are telling.
I was blown away this summer when one of my biker friends, told me the reason he and his girlfriend were late for a party we were having because he had to see the season finale of Smallville. We spent the next hour talking about the show! | StaggerLee

Otherwise the feud between the women will escalate to the point where being with you no longer matters as compared to sabotaging everything the other woman does. The longer it takes to make a decision between the two, the likelyhood of you losing both of them increases.

| #13 Posted on 1.10.03 0244.11 Reposted on: 1.10.10 0248.04 | There seems to be some real Lana/Clark chemistry but it sorta blows because we know Clark moves on to Metropolis and meets Lois. The Lana Lang character was never more than a foil, the "woman from the past" that Lois is supposed to look good next to. So there's some weirdness there.
Chloe turning heel, or at least laying the foundation for a heel turn is promising. They need to do more with Pete.
But hell, even if the show sucked I'd still watch just to see more of Bo Duke. | A-MOL

We know that something happens towards the end of Smallville that means Lana and Clark split and Lex is actively seeking to stop a man from another world from messing with his plans for power (and doesn't realise that Supes looks like that reporter guy who he knew from Smallville before he started wearing glasses), and I am looking forward to where they go with this. | Freeway

However, due to the Sunday replays, I've really become hooked on the show. The thing that gets me going forward is that doesn't Chloe kind of have to end up, well, dead? Y'know, she discovers the secret, then probably dies in some heroic way, leading to Clark going off to see the world, then taking up the mantle of ace reporter we know and love in tribute?
This would make me sad, as I'm all Chloe > Lana. And yes, that makes me feel all bad and pervy inside... | Freeway

In modern DCU continuity, Clark Kent, Pete Ross, Lex Luthor, the Kents & Lana Lang exist in the sense that they've been encountered and chronicled in comics. Chloe doesn't necessarily HAVE to die, but she'll probably be discredited in such a way that she cannot possibly have any kind of legit journalistic career (probably getting screwed over by Lionel Luther for something). | Smackfiend
