From Gamespot.com:

With Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This at Home due for an October 8 stateside release (November in the UK), Eidos has updated the game's official Web site with new in-game screens, in addition to other media files.

Eidos has also announced a program through which players who preorder or purchase the game get gifts that vary by retailer. The gifts are as follows:

Backyard Wrestling/Psychopathic Records Sampler
Purchase Backyard Wrestling at Musicland or preorder it at Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery, and get this sampler with three songs from Insane Clown Posse, along with tracks by Psychopathic artists Twiztid, Esham, Anybody Killa, and Zug Izland.

Backyard Wrestling: Exposed DVD
Preorder BYW at EB and Gamestop stores, and get this DVD, which includes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Backyard Wrestling. It also includes exclusive interviews with some of the game's stars and the game's lead designer. BYW star interviews feature Josh Prohibition, Madman Pondo, The Rudeboy, and Tylene Buck. Also included are music videos from Insane Clown Posse, Chimaira, Bowling for Soup, Spineshank, and more.

Music and Mayhem DVD
Purchase BYW at Best Buy and receive a special edition game, bundled with a DVD that features exclusive matches--like Rudeboy vs. Madman Pondo, Mdogg 20 vs. Josh Prohibition--and an exclusive interview with Insane Clown Posse and videos from Andrew WK, Slayer, Twiztid, Insane Clown Posse, and American Hi-Fi, among others.

I thought tie-ins were supposed to make people WANT to pre-order games.

You oughta get a lobotomy for pre-ordering that pile of monkey crap on a stick.

Or better yet, give away free lobotomies, and the suckers...er, patients will be much more receptive to ordering said crap on said stick.

Here (computerandvideogames.com) is an interview with the producer of Backyard Wrestling.

And not that I plan on buying it (of course, I don't plan on buying HCtP, but I expect I'll own it by the end of the year), but I didn't think Def Jam Vendetta sounded like all that great of an idea for a game, and yet everyone raved about that when it came out. As stupid as Backyard Wrestling may be in reality, it may very well turn out to make a fun game. Of course, it seems the ICP are doing their darndest to make sure that doesn't happen...

Edit:

Not that I expect anyone to find an edit to a two day old post, but...

Here (teamxbox.com) is a preview of the X-Box version of the game.
