Wow! Looks like a really good DVD.
Now THIS is the kind of stuff WWE should be releasing.
All the stars are there...and Isaac Yankem.(aka Kane)
I don't remember Bret Hart and Isaac Yankem even having a cage match. Hogan/Orndorff, Bret/Owen, Benoit/Angle...looks like they've covered some great matches here.
I guess "Hell in the Cell" and "Steel Cage" are kept seperate.
"Hell in the Cell" would have to be a future DVD.

Now, I'll just wait for a "Best of Saturday Night's Main Event" two-disc set and I'll be a happy fan.

We need a "Best of the Blue Cage" companion disc (although the only missing match I can think of is Steiners vs. Money, Inc. for the WWF tag titles in Money, Inc.'s last match as a tag team)

That has to be the best DVD lineup I've ever seen. I can't wait for that one. I can't believe how heavy they are on NWA/WCW content. Just awesome.

About the only ones I can think of that I'd want on that one would be Savage vs DiBiase (where a fan scaled the cage and started attacking Virgil), Bundy vs Hogan (hey, I liked that one, dammit!) and really, that's about it. I am just blown away by the lineup there.

Could it be that the Home Video Crew is finally `getting it'? Nahh.....

If it is the one I think it was, it is from the RAW before the Winnipeg IYH. Lawler was suspended above the ring in a smaller cage as well.

Looks like that is one of the "highlights from..." matches, so we probably won't get the whole match.

I'll be happy either way. At least all that old footage that Vince now owns is finally being used properly.

Flair vs Dusty! Is that where Big Dust gets his leg broken?

Snuka vs THE ROCK! This was a great match! The first full WWF match I had ever seen!

The Midnight Express vs the Andersons! OLD SCHOOL BABY! Plus, anything and I do mean ANYTHING with James E Cornette cant be bad!

Plus all of us with our secret Bob Backlund love will get to see him in the steel cage as well!

Yup, Lawler's hanging from a cage. I've got it on a "WWF's Most Amazing Matches" Coliseum compilation, which fails to live up to its name.

Hey, sounds like an exciting DVD compared to some they've released. I think I might actually have to shell out some money instead of the ole boot for this.

Funny enough, I remember when my sister's friend brought the tape over to my house about 10 years ago - I actually knew this dude. We don't talk to him anymore but the kid was an insane Macho Man nut. Back in the day, he actually believed wrestling was real and he was legitimately trying to help Macho Man win the match.

Notice no King Kong Bundy vs. Hulk Hogan.

Only other one I can think of thats ommited was the Foley/Rock/Shamrock contest from the September 98 card; If just to hear Foley pre match interview, and see Shamrock tearing up a Polish flag afterwards. I wonder if the "Chair Shot heard round the world" might be an easter egg? Damn well should.

Besides that, a damned good DVD, with a bunch of early 80's stuff i've never seen. As a matter of fact, I'm calling Santa's hotline tonight and request it.

Wasn't Bret Hart supposed to be the 'master' of the cage match? I seem to recall that he supposedly never lost a cage match until losing to Sid on RAW in 1997 (which led to his infamous swearing tirade).

GET... OUT! That is too funny!!! Yeah, I remember security scrambling to pull the kid off Virgil. Did anything ever happen to him (eg did he get kicked out of the arena)?

Actually that's the Rock n Roll Express... Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson... So, sadly, no James E. Cornette, but still...

What I would love to see next is a more updated "Most Unusual Matches" video.

Something with War Games, a Hell in a Cell or two, even Hell in a Kennel w/special commentary by Mick Foley and Al Snow (Yeah, I know this was an extra on the hard knocks, cheap pops DVD, but with the commentary this would be absolutely priceless) or how's about the Raw Bowl (if anyone has this on tape, I'd love to have a copy), or WCW's Triple Cage, or the Dungeon of Doom match (at least I think that's what it was called, I'm referring to the cage match wheree Abdullah the Butcher ended up in an "electric chair") or even the Brawl For All? Maybe a couple of the women's matches, like a women's hardcore match, and maybe the swimming pool match w/Kat showing her uhhh... assets. They could even include Judy Bagwell on a Pole!

I think including both classic matches (War Games, HBK/Taker Hell in a Cell, etc.) and just plain odd matches (gravy bowl match, Kennel in a Cell etc.) it would be very enjoyable.

Devin

On a semi-related note, just read somewhere that the `Ultimate Ric Flair Collection' DVD is going to be THREE DISCS!!! That's long enough where they would have to include at least ONE match from his non-WWE days. Let the speculation begin.
