So many missed field goals, and the exciting last second touchdown to win the game, but no, a missed PAT, panthers take it in overtime over the superbowl champs, wow just wow. what are your guys thoughts? | Promote this thread! | | MARTYEWR

| #2 Posted on 15.9.03 0852.56 Reposted on: 15.9.10 0853.50 | Well, you do realize that Carolina NEVER loses in the summer months (before Sept. 21), so there wasn't a hell of a lot Tampa could do...
That, and the Panthers did a heck of a job running the football (171 yards to Tampa's 60). That's pretty awesome ball control, considering the time of possession was pretty even, yet the Panthers only had 14 first downs to Tampa's 25.
The irony of it all is: they beat Tampa playing Tony Dungy football. | ges7184

I think ESPN's Tom Jackson talked about how stopping the run between the tackles may be Tampa's only weakness, but after watching I think that you would have to think Tampa's special teams are a little suspect, too. The three blocked kicks, and the long punt return in OT, is what made the difference in this game. | Jaguar
