One time I was renting a car. As I was standing there waiting for the paperwork to print, I was listening to the other agent explaining the various insurance options to his customer. The upshot was that if you take the full coverage, you can return the car in as wadded up a wreck as you want, so long as it's identifiable as the car you took out, & they won't care. Now I personally wouldn't want to test the limits of that explanation, but I suspect WWE is 100% up on the fine print.
Were Rey & Billy Kidman watching the Frank Gorshin episode of Star Trek recently? I suppose since they now have matching outfits they'll be together for a while. Although they are mirror opposites -- perhaps that's deep meaning. Nice detail by Nunzio, pulling down the kneepad before dropping on Kidman's face. Really nice 619 on the fly, followed by Tajiri's duck away from the second 619. Cool stuff.
Big Show was hilarious. He was just back there, being the well-dressed bodyguard, but his little reactions to everything were the best thing in this segment. Brock did some nice psycho menacing of Steph tonight.
Was Brock trying to insinuate that he'd done Sable, & that she was no-selling him as less than memorable (among the crowd)? Or was that piece of business something else altogether?
Nidia is great! The little things as she was trying to get Torrie & Dawn to play nice were excellent. Dawn oversells a bit, but otherwise, a perfectly decent squash with run-in save. I liked Shaniqua tossing the roadie off the chair, & she got some nice distance on the fling of the folding chair. (Way outside the 3-point line. Better distance than Kurt got with the steel steps*, but those are a little heavier & less aerodynamic.)
Benoit/Rhyno was good. Chris seems to do a very good job of bringing out the best in Rhyno. And that's a good thing. I didn't really see much point in Albert's run-in, especially since it didn't really help, other than to facilitate the hot tag to Adbreak.
"The crotchal area." Tazz, you do have quite a creative interpretation of the english language. (And we do enjoy it.) :-)
APA office scene -- good. APA inring -- not so good. (In spite of Shannon & Matt's best efforts.)
Did anyone else notice that O'Haire was the one with the presence of mind to grab the money off the table when the poker game broke up? It's the little things. (Well, along with the big things. Y'know.)
The Parking Lot Brawl was really a good brawl. One very smart thing was having the random guys hanging around the perimiter -- it gave a kind of gang-fight feel to it, but it also provided some feedback for both Eddie & Cena, & for us -- that worked well. Cars started, the lawnmower (?!?) started, windshield wipers worked (I'm so glad Tazz laughed at that, 'cause I sure did.), & most of the glass shattered when it was supposed to! This has got to be a record for ancillary objects actually functioning. And then Chavito! It just hadn't occurred to me that he might come help. Cool!
I thought Vince's part after Steph came into the ring was some of the best Vince (character exposition & delivery) that I've seen in a long time. The shift from "You're actually gonna go through with this?" through "You don't know the position you're putting me in." to "You're defying me just like you always have." Really nice power shift in there, & really nice advancement of their relationship.
When in doubt, kick 'em in the nuts! Good girl! But it is generally a good idea to bail before they rally...
Needs more O'Haire. And less Mullets. Otherwise, a good show. ------------------------------------ * Lance's site (stormwrestling.com) has some funny stuff sometimes, especially given Lance's droll style. Somebody wrote in asking "I was wondering if the steps around the ring are really made of steel? I was just wondering because you guys toss them around like they were made of aluminum." Lance's reply (& picture his delivery): "They are steel and heavy. The guys that throw them are very strong." I chortled.

Uh, I actually missed the show, matter of fact we didn't even tape the damn thing. From what I've read, sounds like I didn't miss too much. I'm still stupified over the whole Ultimo/O' Haire thing, by the way. They are naturals when you give them a fair chance. I've seen Ultimo, and there's NO reason that he should disappoint Vince McMahon.
This is WORLD Wrestling ENtertainment, right?! God, the name still doesn't sound natural... Whatever, I'm thinking of doing a joshi (Japanese women's wrestling) tape review just for the ladies' board, do you guys think that's a good idea? Let me know.
I'm really tired of seeing Steph get forced into main event matches on the show, if you want to fire her Vince, then do it already! She's got a wedding coming up, the time off will do her good!
