...or get the TNA one cent PPV, cause Lord knows he didn't mention that enough in the latest Raw rant. We get the point.

Actually, it would more accurate to say that the joke flew completely over your head.

Apparently it did! Anyone care to explain it for me?

Keith.... one brief question. For your Simpsons season three DVD review--How in the world did you BOMB the most quotable quote for the Softball episode? It's totally "It's like there's a party in my mouth--and everyone's invited!"

See, I spent the entire RAW rant shilling the TNA show in hopes of getting commission from the profits, before I realized after endless plugs that it's only a one-cent show, and therefore any money actually received from the show would be less than a cent, if that.

This of course violates my personal rule about not explaining my jokes, but these are trying times we live in.

Gotcha. Only thing I could think of was a riff on TNA constantly shilling the show on their own, but having never seen TNA, couldn't prove that.

Then again, I just found out I have anemia, so I'm a little slow today. Many thanks.

Hey, now that Bullit has posted again, I can add another post.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the party joke was around before that episode. Although there's a funny bit on the commentary where they talk about having to do endless takes with Griffey because he didn't get the joke.

One problem, Scott: it's a shitty joke. If a joke involves that much thought, it ususally doesn't work.

That episode has so many good lines that I can cut Scott a break. My personal favourite is Mike Scioscia in the hospital.

"Will...I...be...able...to...play...soft...ball...tomorrow?"

Just cracks me up for some reason.

"PITT the ELDER!"

"LORD PALMERSTON!"

As someone who can make a case for either, that joke will always be tops.

Nice rant this week, Scott. Although I think you ought to take a little more pleasure in the "graft a personality on Storm" experiment. Every little bit helps....

I'm not one to normally `rant' about your `rants', Scott, but I have to say: that Raw rant sounded like you wrote the whole thing in advance. Okay, I got the joke about the one cent PPV, fine, whatever. But in the process, you seemed DETERMINED to bury everything that happened on Raw.

Personally, I liked the show, and I'm not saying everyone else had to. But come on, this week's was some of the most logical storytelling they've done on the show this year. Almost every segment had some sense of purpose. And it isn't what everyone's been asking them to do, yourself included?

I just thought the entire thing was built WAY TOO MUCH around that one TNA joke. Just my opinion...

Now granted, it wasn't the greatest of jokes to begin with, but even the worst joke can go beyond "worst" status and reach that lofty plateau where you plead to all the gods in the universe to make it stop and gouge out your eyes, when it's beaten into the ground over and over and over and over and over again.....

Congrats, you scaled that peak superbly

Hey - there's also an Easter Egg on disc 3 of the new Simpsons DVD with a series of very funny audio outtakes (my favorite is Hank Azaria improvising the cast list for "Ya-Hoo!", which has about 50 entries) - including Ken Griffey repeatedly failing to say that line right.

You have to punch in 84763 (Maggie's "price" in the opening credits) on the main menu (w/The Simpsons on their couch.) You may have to hit enter on your remote after each number.

I'm pretty sure there are more outtakes hidden on another disc as well, although no one seems to have found them yet. (Among the things they hyped the disc with was Kelsey Grammar's Sideshow Bob outtakes, and those aren't to be found here.)

Well, I'll be nice and answer it for the (few) people who are wondering what is the real answer.

In the 139th episode anniversy special (I think that's right) they answered show questions in funny ways...and that was one that they answered.

"What is displayed when maggie is rung up" and that she was "NRA4LIFE" but really it is $847.63
