Tampa Bay is picked to win the Super Bowl, ok no problem there. But to win over the CHIEFS???? Kansas City has no defense whatsoever, and Vonnie Holliday sure as hell won't turn them around by himself.

Even stranger, SI ranks Pittsburgh and Tennessee higher than KC in their overall rankings, but picks KC to win the conference.

Shawn Barber will help a lot also. Everyone seems to forget about him. We also get Ryan Sims and Jerome Woods back. Plus, we signed McLeon. I agree though, us making it to the SB is a bit of a stretch.

I mean, come on, is KC even going to make the playoffs this year? I think winning their division will be their only shot, since Tennessee, Indy, Pittsburgh and everyone in the East (save the Jets) have more talent. Pretty much the only thing that KC has going for them is that they're Anna Kournikova's favourite team.

They've got at least the same shot that Indy does. Neither defense is all that great, and they both have tremendous offenses.

Any semblance of a defense will give Kansas City a decent chance, especially in a conference that's as completely fucking wide open as the AFC is. Doesn't matter who TB plays, however, because we will crush all comers. The prospect of Chucky dancing in a jockstrap on Mabry Highway is just too tantalizing a bit of motivation. ;)

When a guy like Warren Sapp, who previously was one of the big motivational guys on the Bucs, is talking about his prospects for free agent money this summer rather than getting back to the Super Bowl, that's a good sign to me that the Bucs are not repeating. Their D is top notch to be sure but it really doesn't seem like the motivation is there, and a Brad Johnson/Michael Pittman-led offense is going to be very hard pressed to repeat.

The Chiefs will be hard pressed to make the playoffs, especially in a division with an improved Broncos team and the powerhouse in Oakland. Even San Diego should be decent this year, making the AFC West (now that the Jets are down and out) arguably the toughest division in football. I don't think the Chiefs have enough to stand up to that, let alone a playoff run through the AFC.

It's impossible to say SI is "insane" because the NFL season is the furthest thing from sanity since the parody era. The dozen teams that I picked to make the playoffs maybe 3 or 4 I'm comfortable with LoL the rest I could see not making it.

I'm already booking my tickets. I'll park my butt at Legends Field for the parade.

The chiefs have been picked many times in the last decaded and never achieved it so I doubt they will start now

To go to the Super Bowl, yes. To win the west and make the playoffs, you're so wrong it's not even funny. The Chiefs were a mainstay in the playoffs for most of the nineties.

Hey I picked the Chiefs to go to the Super Bowl also. Now i'm no NFL expert, i'm more of a college guy, but the last two years i've picked the Eagles and Raiders and they've atleast made it very close so i've had some ok luck with picking. They're defense isn't great, but it will atleast be better than last year I think and their offense is awesome. Plus you never know in the NFL, sometimes a team nobody was expecting makes it and it's usually the AFC team (Baltimore, New England). I actually applaud them, even if it turns out to be a bad pick atleast they aren't picking the same as everyone else. I was watching some football show on ESPN and all three guys who made picks picked the exact same thing Tampa Bay over Tennessee. Of course then Stuart Scott pulled out Miami over Carolina.

I've always thought that Barber has been overrated. Don't get me wrong...he's a helluva nice guy, and a great person to have in your community. I've just never seen him do anything super cool.

That's the thing with him. It's not like he's a Ray Lewis, or a Brian Urlacher, and he's not supposed to be. But, his signing allows the guy we had starting at the OLB position last year (Maslowski), to move to the middle where he's more suited (ie; he doesn't have to be as fast.) Coupled with the signing of Holliday and McLeon, and the return of Jerome Woods and Ryan Sims (our first round pick in 02) our defense should be much improved. Of course, the maturity and progession of our young corners will have as much to do with the development of our D as much as the signings will. If only Derrick Thomas hadn't died, and we hadn't let Donnie Edwards leave. Edwards and Barber coupled with Maslowski would have been killer.

Well, you know, the Jets could make some miracle season, or something, you know, and their defense might do something neat...

*tears start to well up*

*bawls like a little girl*

THEY LOST TO THE REDSKINS!!! GOD DAMNIT!!!
