So I was taping Raw and flipping between Yankees/Orioles and Colts/Broncos when who did I spot on NBC during a commercial break?
Tough Enough's Hawk.
He was on this "reality show" Meet The Parents. I tuned in at about 9:45, so it was almost over and the Dad was about to cut the three candidates down to two. I've never seen this show so I don't know if it's different every week or how many guys they started with, but the girl seemed to be connecting with Hawk. But dad vetoed the big lug and it seemed like mom and daughter wanted him to stay. There was a near tearful farewell and the mom told Hawk to believe in himself and pursue his dreams and that when Hawk made his big wrestling debut, mom would be there ringside. Maybe somebody has been recapping Hawk's efforts, but I was suprised it wasn't talked about anywhere. The new Torch featured four pages of minor league indy fed crap (six if you consider TNA the minor leagues), and not a mention of Hawk's prime time network efforts.

Hawk has become one of those "actors" going from reality show to reality show. He was also on The 5th Wheel and Totally Busted, which is a Candid Camera-like show on the Playboy network. He was on that show thinking he was doing another reality TV audition.

Another real unfortunate thing is that he just might have won Tough Enough. I mean, it would have been a real longshot, but he was interesting, and the trainers seemed to like him. Besides, he was on during the unfortunate Season 2, and look how those managers, I mean, up-and-coming wrestlers, have turned out.

Yeah, there was something in, I think, Entertainment Weekly some months ago that mentioned Hawk in passing as trying out for a show -- what was the show that was about who was the hottest person in America? That one. I don't think he made it on TV.

I dunno -- it looks like he's found his passion, and it ain't wrestling.
