There's also pictures of Darryl Johnes, Omar Hakin, Branford Marsalis and Kenny Kirkland on the back which I didn't bother scanning.
Purchased: 1985 From: The Record Factory, Modesto, CA Price: $4.99, I'm sure
There was a station in Modesto, KFIV "Hot Rock 102," which would play 12" versions of the HITS and hearing the A side remix for the first time I knew I had to have it. This is really the prototype of the perfect 12" - super long version (by Jellybean, natch) that retains the essence of the original, both sides of the 45 included so you wouldn't have to spend another 98 if you wanted those, and a re-interpretation on the flip side by William Orbit and mixed by RC (back when few knew who EITHER of them were) that's almost even better than the original.
Man, but Sting sure looks kinda....festive, don't he? | | Promote this thread! | | DJ FrostyFreeze

Might have to start posting what I've found in thrift stores, too, except I've been doing better on CD's lately (I'm listening to one of today's finds, Liz Phair's "Whip-Smart" right now... $3.) | CRZ

Hey you know this wasn't what you were talking about but you've reminded me that this song DID have a pretty cool video...since I can remember pretty much everything about it. Sting had this kinda halo video effect, Daryl was in black and white, Branford was transparent except when he was playing his part, the backup singers moved in dropped frames except when THEY were singing, you didn't see Kenny unless he did his little thing and they'd switch cameras to spotlight him, and Omar....I guess he was the one who didn't have any video effects because I don't remember his. Also, for no apparent reason there was a chess board set up somewhere on that set. Man, VH-1 Classic should play THAT one. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
