This weekend I finally got to see Stella. If this show comes to your city, make every effort to see it. It was by far one of the most entertaining 2 hours I've seen.

For those that don't know, Stella is a comedy show done by Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black, and David Wain all of The State fame. If you liked the State, you will love Stella.

We got in line two hours beforehand at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago. The line blocked two restaurants and was constantly in the way of everyone. The show was supposed to start at 10 PM but we didn't even get let in until then.

Since we were up pretty close in the line, we got front row balcony seats. As we were waiting for the show to start, Michael Showalter stuck his head out of a door right behind us. My friend (who is madly in love with him) squeezed my arm so tight that she drew blood. I waved at him and he waved back.

The opening act was good, but no Stella. When they hit, the crowd on the floor was on it's feet for the entire show. They talked about a number of things. For example:

(WARNING - This might be a bit strong, so if you're offended, just be warned)

On 'Weird' Al Yankovic:
DW "We were all sitting around having a good time and just hanging out. It was totally non-sexual."
MIB "But, about an hour later, we were f*cking the sh*t out of him"
MS "We made that ass of his hamburger meat and came all in his hair"

They did a lot of skits and made fun of David Wain a lot. They incited the whole crowd to chant "Fuck Bryce Willis" (yes, Bryce). After the show, we bought a Stella DVD and got to meet Wain and Showalter. Black was nowhere to be found though. They both were great guys and were impressed we travelled all the way from VA to see them.

So there's my Stella experience. I know only a few of the people on this board will care about this show, but I just wanted to share with everyone.

So were all the skits they did just stuff from the DVD, or was there anything else?

Actually they showed one of the skits from the DVD on a big screen. Everything else they did was totally original. That's good though, b/c every skit on the DVD was pretty much the same. There's got to be a giant dildo, someone getting humped, someone getting massively beat down, or masturbation in every skit on there. Which, while funny, gets a bit old after a while.
