I'm not sure how good the fight will be with Forrest's boring style and fear of a KO now. But anybody who is remotely interested in boxing should check out this Mayorga cat. This guy is the craziest boxer I've ever seen. I love Mike but Ricardo Mayorga is the new "bad boy" of boxing.

His style is like in a street fight, non-existent. No real combos or body shots, just 10 to 15 punch flurries to the cranium. Every shot and I mean EVERY shot is thrown with bad intentions; a real live brawler. From what I can tell he is good for at least 7 rounds of a balls-out assault. He says he can go 12, but I don't know.

That's the other thing, speaks no English but talks cash shit. Said he's gonna knockout his "son" (Forrest) for not sending him a Father's Day card. He smokes and drinks beer after his fights to celebrate. He eats pizza and stuff while weighing in, the day before the fight. And says he knocked out a horse before. Just plain loco.

Even Dela Hoya was smart enough to say "not no but hell no", well not exactly. Anyway, he fights at 147 lbs I believe and lost 3 fights early in his career; but I really don't see anyone beating this dude right now. Maybe a pure boxer like Forrest could but we'll see. The fight is Saturday on HBO by the way.

Mayorga will burn himself out quickly, and Forrest will take him. This is like Gorilla Monsoon's adage about Bret Hart: a good wrestler can beat a good brawler anyday.

Yes, because that's how the first fight worked out.

I thought Vernon took Mayorga WAAAAAAAY to lightly in the first fight (rapping outside the ring? that's not you, Vernon!) but I think that this fight will likely turn out much the same way (a Mayorga KO win), since Mayorga can apparently rock Forrest's world any time he hits him. I think it really depends on the shape these guys are in, but since Forrest doesn't have the natural speed of a Mosley I don't think he'll be able to elude the big shot for 12 rounds.

The Judah-Corley fight should be quite good, as well.

Yeah, that one has been brewing for a while. I hoping Corley wins, I'm still pissed at Judah for acting so damn ignorant. I used to be a fan but he's gotta show more character.

Here's an interview Mayorga did a few weeks ago:

I want to see someone beat the cocky bastard eventually, but not Forrest, maybe Mosley could.

Quite a good fight. I thought Mayorga won pretty easily, but Brian and Max on ESPN both thought Forrest won. I just thought Mayorga was consistently hurting Forrest throughout the fight, and he was never really hurt himself.

That stuff Mayorga pulled in Round 4 was the finest no-selling since the Undertaker. And who thought Judah lost eight rounds to Corley?! Thankfully the other two judges got it right and Zab got the decision.

All in all, another in a row of quite good boxing matches.

I had Mayorga 7 to 5. I'm surprised the Judges gave it to him.

OK, so who else is now dying to see Mayorga - Gatti?

Great fight. I have never seen the honest-to-God "hit me with your best shot Motherfucker!" taunt actually pulled off anywhere but the movies - hopefully Zab Judah felt like an idiot for all his clowning after that one.

Speaking of the Judah fight (best heel in the business right now INHO), DeMarcus Corley is my new hero. How can you not love a guy who come to the ring dressed like Nefertitti, dancing like he's possessed, wearing women's underwear, with the PRINCE symbol tattooed on his chest! That my friends,is someone secure in his masculinity. Of course, having 7 children and being a (then) undefeated pro boxer goes a long way to making one secure in said masculinity.

Awesome fight night. Judah looked great and showed more composure than usual. A K.O would have been more impressive. Corley was very disappointing, I'll admit that he normally has the speed advantage in a fight. Just couldn't adapt I guess.

Mayorga just may be the savior of boxing. He's gonna make Don King alot of money. I just could not believe that shit he did in the 4th or 5th round! Told ya'll that dude was loco, didn't know he was THAT crazy though. Honestly, I fault Forrest for that more than anything. That one-two bs was stupid. Had he thrown a real flurry one good time, Mayorga woulda quit that shit quick.

He was absolutely womanized and did not do enough to win. Although I do believe that he provided the blueprint to beat Mayorga. At 1st I thought Mayorga was invincible, but he was tired in the 7,8, and 9th rounds. And when Forrest went to the body, he hurt him. A little more speed and a little more agression will beat Mayorga.

I'm kinda glad Vernon's boring ass is out the picture anyway. He's too awkward to get another title shot. Question is, who can stop the Matador? I will be the 1st to predict that Shane Mosely could and should fight Mayorga.
That's the best way to get redemption instead of being screwed by Dela Hoya to get recognition. IMO, no one else who really has a chance is crazy enough to fight him right now.
