Good job. I see Giambi got in replacing Sweeney anyway--you know with the clean-shaven look, he reminds me of Chet from Weird Science more and more.

Damn. I'm looking at AL first baseman, and it's sad that there aren't many batting better than Giambi's .268.

And Giambi needs the beard back. It was his character. That's one Yankee rule that I find nonsensical, but maybe Torre finds that it helps enforce discipline or something.

does it only apply to position players or something, 'cause it always seems like Clemens and Pettite have 5 o'clock shadow... anwyays, I'm not big on stuff like that is as, disclipline is important, but if you can play no one should give a damn if you have a beard or not.

Clemens doesn't shave between starts. I'm not sure about Pettite, but since he's been under Clemens' guidance since he came to NY, it's possible.

And the clean shaven look is George's thing, not Torre's.

Dusty said that Dontrelle would be in for kevin Brown, assuming Brown is still hurt. Of course, now that Willis is pitching Sunday, it is unlikely he would pitch in the game, anyway.... How about Brandon Webb.... 13 out of 13 in quality starts and leading the league in ERA?

So explain David Wells, then. (arches eyebrow)

Wells wears a (somewhat) neatly cropped mustache, which is ok by George from what I've heard. He let Mattingly and Jack McDowell go with mustaches in recent years.

Supposedly George doesn't want beards, goatees or long hair. Hell, Giambi cut his hair and shaved his goatee for his press conference last year, but still had a soul patch, which disappeared before the start of the season.

Well, it's kind of tough to keep a soul patch when one has no soul. Sorry, I just wanted to get in cheap Yankee heat.
