"OK Computer" for me is the best album of all time. As far as the 1A's, the Black Sabbath "Reunion" double-live CD rocks my world, and as far as a Greatest Hits-type of thing, Stevie Ray Vaughn's first collection isn't ever very far my car CD player.

I know you said no lists, but, ehh, fuck that. The four best albums of all time are:

The Clash - London Calling
The Beatles - White Album
The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street
Prince - Sign O' The Times

There, was that so hard?

I love "Grace", but I really love "Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk", maybe because it's a glimpse into his creative mind. Most of the songs may have never been released because he didn't think they were up to his idea of perfection, though I think they're awsome.

Hey LaParka,
Good call on naming Prince "Sign O' the Times". He's made some great albums, but that one is a standout.
I think the Beastie Boys "Paul's Boutique" deserves a mention, as it made sampling an art form, though "License to Ill" is a CLASSIC party album.

Iggy and the Stooges: Raw Power. you could even make a better case for the self titled debut as well..

i'll also throw in a vote for Revolver, but one must include "The Velvet Underground & Nico" (the bananna album) as a highly influential record as well.

Don't think I can pick a fave, but I can say the 5 or so albums that I could live with in my cd player for a very long time.

Deftones - White Pony
Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville
Tool - Undertow
Quicksand - Manic Compression
NIN - Pretty Hate Machine

I'll second Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend. I can listen to that all the time. I'd also nominate Supergrass's In It For The Money. My favorite album, though, is a dub of mine from back in the day that has Appetite For Destruction on one side and Suzanne Vega's 99.9 F on the other. :)
