I think Ric Flair and Bret Hart would be good ones..I know there are others but those are the 2 I'd like.
Now that they have WWF and WCW/NWA footage who would benefit the most from this kind of DVD? Is their one the WWE wouldnt make but should?
On another note I think DVDs that are on specific wrestlers should have all their World Title wins....even if the matches werent good...just to have em all in one place..just a though. This would have been nice on Hogans and HBK's...not to mention others. Promote this thread! | | BigVitoMark

| #2 Posted on 29.6.03 0053.02 Reposted on: 29.6.10 0053.25 | The trick to doing From The Vault DVDs is to not only compile a few memorable matches, but to put some forgotten matches in there as well. For example, on the Shawn Michaels DVD, all the matches from his WWF days were well known PPV matches and thus otherwise easy to come by.
I would assume that a good portion of sales of DVDs from this series (I assume it will be a series) are hardcore fans since they are being sold as collections of classic matches. I would venture a guess that most hardcore fans have the WMX ladder match and the ironman match already in their collections in some capacity. Why not trot out some harder to find stuff, such as...
any Hart Foundation/Rockers match from '90? the phantom tag title change? the Rockers/Orient Express Rumble '91 match? Rocker Shawn vs. Ric Flair? the Bret/Shawn ladder match from '92? the Bret/Shawn Survivor Series '92 match? Shawn's first IC title win over Davey Boy? any match from the Shawn/Jannetty '93 series? the Shawn/Razor ladder match from SummerSlam '95? the Shawn/Owen "concussion" match from Raw late '95? the Austin/Michaels tag title win?
Point is, with such a selection to choose from, all this DVD really offers is a rehash of stuff that most of us either already have or at least have already seen. Oh yeah, and the Buddy Rose diet plan ad. That might be worth something on it's own, but the price of a whole DVD? No way.
Let's just hope that when the Bret DVD comes out it's a little more complete. | TellMeYouDidntJustSayThat

How about a nice two-disc Foley DVD with the full HITC match as well as rare footage from WWF, WCW, Japan, and ECW.

I'd like to see a couple of title compilations. The US Championship. The Cruiserweight Championship.
I'd love to see a Bret Hart set but that's probably a couple years off. A Four Horsemen set would be good. The Dangerous Alliance.

The HBK From the Vault is great too. I would like it even better if I didn't already have Mind Games and Badd Blood on other DVD's, but that's okay. It's even nice to hear HBK discussing his matches.
As far as the From the Vault series, I would like to see titles like, say, "Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin" or "Mankind vs. UT". You could have all of the major matches in full, as well as cover the storyline in depth. Oh, well | Big Bad

| #11 Posted on 29.6.03 1435.46 Reposted on: 29.6.10 1436.58 | LOL! Goldberg's run was hardly historic. I recall watching Nitro and the streak was at (i'm making up a number here) 77. By the time Thunder aired on the following Thursday, suddenly the streak was up to 83 or some big jump like that. I remember thinking, "How did he manage to win so many matches in only 2 or 3 days? Do they really think we're this stupid? Is anybody watching and BELIEVING this crap?"
The streak was fabricated. It was all storyline and hype to get Goldberg over. Their plan worked like a charm, so you're right about that much. I thought people knew that was all fake, but I guess not. | cfgb

The total of wins may be off since they didn't keep track at first - but I don't recall any serious jumps in the numbers like that.

| #19 Posted on 1.7.03 0333.50 Reposted on: 1.7.10 0335.30 | Flair seems to be the most obvious choice to me, with his really extensive history making it a genuine "From the Vault", like the title says. The only problem I can see is Flair's biggest history is NWA, and Vince seems to want the DVDs to be WWF/E heavy in content and focus. For Flair WWE stuff, the best things would probably be RR '91, the house show title loss to Bret, WM8 with Savage, maybe Flair/Ramon vs. Savage/Perfect, Loser leaves town vs. Perfect. Problem, of course, is that Flair only actually wins ONE of those matches.
Frankly, although I'm sure there'd be protestations, I can easily see them doing a UT one. Of course, some of the matches would REALLY suck, esp. his early ones, but he does have a long history with a WWE focus. Plus, it'd be funny to see footage of Mean Mark the Skyscraper. :) | JHCA13
