Capitol Records W-455 - 1957. This was originally a 10" EP (H-455) containing eight fewer tracks. I don't think there's a stereo version (label number would begin "SW" instead of "W"), at least not after spending an entire minute on Google and that's all you get because I'm LAZY
Purchased: 1 Mar 2001 From: Probably Big Al's Record Barn in San Jose, CA Price: $1?
And finally, if you're REALLY adventurous (and/or bored), you can read the liner notes on the back cover by clicking here. (102K JPEG)

EDIT: It says right there on the back that he conducted the orchestra, but you're probably right about it just being a name-brand thing.
EDIT (again): Hey! No fair editing while I'm looking at your big-ass JPEG!

| #4 Posted on 26.6.03 1628.59 Reposted on: 26.6.10 1628.59 | Gleason also released an album called "Jackie Gleason Presents Music to Remember Her". And believe me, it works! I listened to it last week, and I can't believe I forgot I has a twin sister. Not to mention my wives from Utah and West Va.!
For those interested, here's some more peculiar albums:

| #5 Posted on 28.6.03 0048.32 Reposted on: 28.6.10 0048.37 | According to Larry King, Gleason couldn't read music, and arranged and conducted his recordings by ear...if is didn't sound right, they tweaked it until it did. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
