i'm worried its not coming back...

A couple of weeks back, he posted a note saying that the site was going to be back sometime early this month. But that's now gone and the website has gone totally black.

My guess? Either he's killed the site temporarily in order to free up time to write that big tell-all book of his or he's revamping the website from top to bottom and things are taking longer than expected.

1. Keith can still be decent, when he isn't in the same old pussy mode that he entered into last Spring after the roster split happened and he suddenly lost all nerve to criticize HHH except for lame hair jokes that no one finds funny save for Scott.

2. Hyatte is by far the most consistantly entertaining writer in the IWC and has shown his talent by evolving as a writer and doing new things to showcase his considerable talents (such as AAT and the Midnight News Report). How many writers have successfully reinvented themselves like Hyatte has while still maintaining the same high quality of writing that he does?

Man, Hyatte's AAT are passable and nothing more. Saying you write the best insightful wrestling column on the 'Net is a lot like being the best-looking leper in the colony.

That's true about the leper colony but AAT is definitely a cut above. The first one I read was a road story by some fictitious old school wrestler and I thought it was the real deal until his "This is Hyatte" tag line. There is some fine writing in there. The Midnight News is just a fun column. Nothing real serious.

Damn! TomZenk.com was my favorite wrestling website, bar none. I have a feeling the site is closed for good, which really pisses me off. My gut tells me that Mr. Zenk is some kind of legal trouble. You would think that he would keep the visitors to his site updated. Does anyone have his email address? It was posted on the site before it closed...

While one could speculate that that did happen (The WWE threatening legal action after Zenk's last column was posted, which had a parody where Steph is dying ala Miss Elizabeth and HHH is more concerned about Vince ruining his career than Steph's well-being) it would have been reported already either through leaks from inside the WWE or through Zenk announcing to everyone that Vince was going after him legally for his column's parody...

It was still GOOD. It's not like I'm referencing something from xwrestling.

Dutch Mantel! Dude, I loved those fucking columns. That was the first column I started reading regularly.

That sounds kinda funny. I figure it is somehow lawsuit related...that or he actually signed a WWE contract.

Just in case anyone percieves my silence as support -

I could give a rat's ass about where Tom Zenk's website has gone.

I think I'm in the majority on this one.

Come ON, Guru ya wimp! Tell us what you REALLY think...

I doubt Zenk would be money-hungry or downright STUPID enough to sign a contract with McMahon after everything he's said about him.

Hopefully Z-Man will come back with the venom, anger and sarcasm I've grown to love!

After all, the IWC without Tom Zenk is like sex without the nipple clamps...

Believe I've posted this thought elsewhere, but to reiterate:

NO ONE IN THE WRESTLING INDUSTRY CARES WHAT TOM F'NG ZENK THINKS!

Vince McMahon doesn't lose sleep at night over whether Zenk is bashing his business... and I'm sure ``the boys'' don't care much either. I highly doubt McMahon is entertaining the idea of signing this goof to a contract just to shut him up.

It's very easy to make fun of what's going on in the wrestling now -- just take a look at 90 % of the threads here for evidence of that. What makes it so different when Zenk (in his prime, an early-90's midcarder) does the same thing?

Good old "Z-Man" was never anything special -- a decent worker, fine. He may be very funny on Meltzer's show and all that, but really -- the guy is not doing anything different than what you, I and everyone else is doing.

I'd like to see an ex-wrestler take the high road and DEFEND the business for a bloody change...

"He may be very funny on Meltzer's show and all that"

Not in a few years. Meltz having him on because he kind of lost his appeal after 3 or 4 appearances in 00-01. He did bring him back after Curt Hennig's death since he knew Curt and his wife and Rick Rude.

I dunno, it's pretty dirty! (see previous sentence about dead wrestlers)

I hear what you're saying, man. I just mean that it's real easy for guys like Zenk or The Honky Tonk Man to knock wrestling today. It takes someone with class (Mick Foley is the only one who comes to mind immediately, and even he doesn't really count cause he HAS knocked certain things) who don't actively wrestle anymore but can still find GOOD things to say about the business.

Well, do you think there's a reason why so many of them don't defend the business?? They certainly ALL can't be out-of-touch old cranks or just bitter about not getting a WWE paycheck. Roddy Piper, crackpot though he may be, has a point with his 'sickness' theory, and many a lot of the old guys can identify with it.

Zenk is too bitter. He may write a good column occasionally but most times he's a bitter as a lemon.
