As the weeks went by, I ran out of enthusiasm for the contest and my work started to suck. I had a bitch of a time improving over my first entry. What I am unhappy about is the fact that Grut didn't give any good reasons why I deserved to be eliminated. His big complaints were "You're too cynical" and "Why do you want so much from a wrestling show?" Regardless of quality, I tried my best to show a little reverence toward the topic and to try to take it more seriously than everyone else as an attempt to stand out. I'm not sure why an opinion that doesn't jibe with his means my column is bad. As far as me being to cynical about the product, since when is it a crime to be honest? I was hoping for a thoughtful, precise critique of my work (Daniels and Eric S. were much better in this respect). Unfortunately, I didn't get that.

Reposted on: 22.6.10 0906.04 | You have to bear in mind, Grut didn't make the call that resulted in you being eliminated. He's just the guy that stepped in and provided his own opinion about what he perceived to be your shortcomings.
Whether they are the same reasons that resulted in your being eliminated is another matter, much in the same way as the criticism offered by Eric S and Daniels may not actually have been reflective of the true reason why previous entries were eliminated.
I get the impression that Grut appears to be a guy who encourages you to look within yourself and develop your own style and purpose as opposed to giving you a framework which you should be following.

If the answer is yes, then once again I have to ask doesn't 411 already have forums for threads that make no sense?
I think renaming the site bashing forum the 411 forum would save a lot of confusion.

Jackson, you know as a man that I love you, and I'm not saying I necessarily agree or disagree with what you've said...and said...and said, but I guess what I'm getting at is do you have to say it in EVERY 411 thread? It's like two wrongs don't make me less annoyed, or something.
I think the fact that the original post went almost 24 hours before getting a (pity?) reply pretty much showed the interest level without any of us having to say anything.
