Folks, it's less than 24 hours away now...the annual NHL draft!

Y'see, this year I'm excited for three reasons. A guy I went to high school with, Ryan Stone of the Brandon Wheat Kings, is expected to go in the first two rounds, so I wanna see where he goes and when.

It's Flames GM/Coach Darryl Sutter's first draft!

PLUS, look at what my beloved Flames have done the past few years at the draft:

2002: Drafted Eric Nystrom, son of Islanders legend Bob Nystrom. Nystrom made a good impact at camp and is expected to possibly make the team this year. Also drafted QMJHL standout Matthew Lombardi, who scored 25 goals in the AHL last year. Aquired Jamie McLennan to back up Roman Turek.

2001: Drafted Chuck Kobasew and the world's fattest goalie, Andrei Medvedev. Then-Flames GM Craig Button acquired Roman Turek for Fred Brathwaite & prospects Daniel Tkazcuk & Sergei Valamov. Also, Button traded for Rob Niedermayer.

God willing, Sutter'll pull something off!
