Who?

It's ok. I get the same reaction when I mention Annihilator

Did they do that song Mahadeveda or something like that? If its the same band, they have a lot of stuff on MP3.com

Yeah, that would be them. Mahadeva, Let There Be Light, and Kabalah are some of their bigger songs. Though, I like almost all of them. I have 80 of their songs right now, most of which I got off MP3.com

Raymond Wave and DJ Mary-Jane are also really good... but again, mention those names in a room...

Oh boy! It's the "plug an unknown artist" thread! I guess I'll chime in with a plug for Imogen Heap at this point.

Well if it's time to pimp the underground, allow me to throw out some of what I asked for this year for Xmas, so others may benefit

Godspeed You Black Emperor - any of their albums
Silver Mt. Zion... - "Born Into Trouble..."
Robbie Fulks - "Couples In Trouble"
New Pornographers - "Mass Romantic"
Kelly Hogan - "Because It Feel Good"

There, I feel better now.

I'll give a shoutout to Lostprophets here, who's debut album has just been released in the States.

Hundred Reasons coming your way next, I believe. Another unbelievably kick-ASS British band. Their live shows are excellent. I'm not sure how they'll do in arenas, but they rule in the intimate club shows...

The Mermen. Psychedelic Surf. mermen.net.

While I'm at it, listen to KFJC. 89.7 FM in the SF Bay area. kfjc.org can hook you up with a stream. Commercial radio sucks.

Indeed, commercial radio does suck.

Couple days ago I was in my car, driving about a mile and so I left my CD's behind. Stupidly, I turned on the radio and heard some syndicated program. It was hosted by Carson Daly and he started talking about Bad Religion. I think my head exploded.

Well, Annihilator was not big in N. America but were huge in Europe. They were Canada's answer to Metallica and they did well. I was actually engaged to the original bass player's niece last year but that is a different story. A couple of songs that are must listens are Alice in Hell, Phantasmagoria, Fantastic Things (which is a super rare track) and Phoenix Rising.

Weee! Time to make another plug! Well...more of an extention of the last plug. Now, it's a plug for Frou Frou. Frou Frou is Imogen Heap teaming up with Guy Sigsworth. I have no idea who Guy Sigsworth is, and, as of right now, they don't have any full length songs, just 2 samples, one playing on their front page at http://www.froufrou.net/ and the other one at http://lancaster.virtuetv.com/clients/virtuetv/outsideline/froufrou/letgo1min.wma

But, despite that, I'm still hyped for it, because it's a new Imogen Heap album! April 23rd bay-bee!

...damn, that's still a while away.
