There is a new column over at 1W critiquing last night's Raw supposedly written by Vince Russo.
Reading this makes me pine for the silky smooth writing style of Tommy Fierro. Caps Lock OFF, Vince...
EDIT: Well, someone posted this again in the Wrestling folder, so more people will probably see it there.

What I find apalling is that he has the nerve to criticize outlandish and outdated storylines that don't make go anywhere...uh, have you FORGOTTEN what you were doing right around 99 and 2000?
Sure, its no better than all of us criticizing the product (you know, because we're all just a bunch of kids using our parents computers).... but if he's going to play the part of an `expert', then he damn well better own up to the shit he pulled in WCW. Granted, he does own up to NWA not being perfect, but then blames it on the booking committee. No, no way Russo is responsible.... | RYDER FAKIN

The problem I have with Russo is not his column, but the simple fact that we (the IWC schlubs) can bitch all we want, but we are not in any position to do anything about it. Russo has the proverbial keys to the Mercedes and chooses to run it into a tree. Don’t tell me for a minute that either of the Jarretts (or Raven or whoever else is involved) has the same “I’m going to make the next Chyna, whether the matches suck or not, fuck you and your $10, Kid Kash is going to JOB” mentality. Or the same sick fetish with having to say “shit” and “ass” in every promo. Or (and I can’t believe he has the audacity to write this) –
Russo on creative stagnation:
Then—to add insult to injury—the quick roll-up from behind? Let’s put a little bit more thought in the finishes—shall we?
And then
Oh, and in the finish of the match—GOD FORBID we have an upset. So far I have called the outcome of every match. Where’s the unpredictability?
RUSSO BOOKS THE SAME FUCKING SWERVES AND FINISHES EVERY SHOW. And for the last few weeks, the same FUCKING SWERVES AND FINISHES THREE OR MORE TIMES PER SHOW.
Not that he cares what * I * think, but here’s some Flea Advice: sure, we on the net are amateur armchair bookers, but Jesus Christ – YOU BOOK A FUCKING NATIONAL COMPANY!!! and for Russo to point out repetitive and moronic booking, when I pay $40 a month to watch a great (and OVER) tag team (America’s Most Wanted) get buried due to swerves, twists and “creativeness” and Goldylocks fucking Eric Watts, tells me he needs to look a little closer to home before becoming a IWC “critic”.
Although, this one column guarantees him a Top 10 Spot on the IWC 100 Summer Edition (July 4th!). Which means DEAN gets bumped. : -) or maybe Keller. Yeah Keller.

| #5 Posted on 17.6.03 1248.01 Reposted on: 17.6.10 1249.04 | I dont know, the whole thing seems odd to me. The guy who (co-)writes for NWA-TNA writing a colum critiquing(sp?, sue me) the WWE on a website that covers all wrestling feds and is half-owned by the guy who also co-owns(?) NWA-TNA. Word.
Meanwhile, his column comes off more like a message board post that a real article with the ALL CAPS AND !!!!!'s everywhere and whatnot.
And in other news, I agree with most of what he said. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
