| #2 Posted on 13.2.02 1414.03 Reposted on: 13.2.09 1418.01 | Irina Slutskaya. She's the young Russian with rosy red cheeks. If Kwan is The Rock, Slutskaya is Chris Jericho. She is Kwan's main competition. At the Grand Prix Final in December, their last meeting before these Games, Slutskaya beat Kwan, but then she lost the European Championship to Butyrskaya. Like Jericho, Slutskaya talks and talks and talks. She enjoys the stage, but has a long way to go to break out of Kwan's shadow.
You know, I found myself laughing at this. I'm so sick and tired of this Kwan-Cohen-Hughes fiasco dominating the back of my newspaper (heck, I had to deal with a whole page about how Ms. Cohen tries to be an intimidator during the practice sessions yesterday) that I've thought about rooting for Slutskaya just to hear them all shut up.
It only takes the revelation that Irina is the wrestling-skating equivalent of the Lord God Almighty to totally convince me. It also helps that she's the cutest of the four :)
