Looking back on all the recaps you've done...

What was the worst show you've recap'd?

What recap got the most feedback, good and bad?

What seems to be the most popular recap you've done?

Is the answer to all three the 15 Nov 99 Nitro?

MAYBE. ;-)

I think Nitro tended to generate much more of the...let's say "extreme" response.

When I go way above and beyond to call a match, I usually get a few people who notice and care enough to email me. Fortunately, I never get enough to feel I have to do that EVERY week. (Angle/Austin in San Jose was one, the last Nitro match, Angle/Booker T where Angle took the WCW title...hmmm, Angle has an affect on me I think)

One particularly notable match call was when I got extra flowery calling a Nash/Sid title match.

Now that I've settled into routine, it looks like I get more readers than ever, but fewer emails than ever. I guess the product needs to REALLY start sucking, eh?

Oh man, that July 5th recap was brilliant.

The other match you called that sticks out in my head as hilarious was the Cat vs. Dog match on a Thunder sometime in early 2000.

You also didn't have a message board back then, which probably cover most of the drop in e-mails.

I have said that before, but really, there's only 400 people on here, MAYBE a few hundred more lurkers - compare that to the thousands (AND THOUSANDS) of readers I have....also, the message boards never HAVE been exactly burning up with feedback about my recaps, my feeble attempts to the contrary notwithstanding. ;-)

Along those lines and by request, I hereby direct you to the vastly underrated (by no one) 22.3.2K Thunder recap.

It's to bad CRZ has nothing bad to recap anymore...I was hoping the wedding would do it but no.

***edit***After reading the following recap I read in the mail that Mark Madden said some things about you, what were they? Were other sites bashing your recap of the Novemember 15th show as well.

If the WWF puts up a link during a show, then I try to repeat it in my report. If they don't, I don't. (That's why sometimes Austin has it and sometimes he doesn't - sometimes he doesn't get a graphic)

EDIT:

Yes, I'm in a frosty glaze tonight....

Anywho...Do you ever pay close enough attention to notice what the most websites in a match has been, or does it peak at four for the main event tags?

The Royal Rumble may have had more?

While there has been potential for a five-website match (given the WWF Shop Zone's sponsorship this month), they have yet to reach it because they haven't given chyron to all four match participants when they've had that chance. (I may have covered this in the recap; I can't remember.)

Off the top of my head, people the WWF gives website addresses to:

stonecold.com
therock.com
undertaker.com
WWFHHH.com
WWFY2J.com
WWFKurtAngle.com
WWFAPA.com
WWFHardys.com
WWFDivas.com (for every woman except Jazz)
WWF.com

Website emeritus list:
WWFDudleyBoyz.com
WWFEdgeChristian.com
Chyna9.com

Websites I don't remember ever seeing listed on TV:
WWFECorpBiz.com
WWF-HoTrain.com
WWFSMH.com
The parents one
The bumps one
The title history one
The rest of them ;-)

(Feel free to correct me)

Foley and I think the RTC had sites too...But other than that, the list looks pretty accurate.

I suppose a Rock/HHH/Austin v. Taker/Jericho/Angle could rate as a six website match (with a possible seventh in the the form of a WWF.com/Shopzone ad).

Though I suppose that the Rumble would have had the most...

EDIT: Damn you smileys!!

So that list is just of websites plugged during the programs or PPVs, right? I saw the parents one in a "Don't try this at home" PSA last night, and took notice of it because I'd never seen it mentioned on TV before. But I guess that wouldn't count even if it's during a PPV since it was like a commercial.

Something I think I emailed Da Z about is that the WWF has discontinued some of the sites and just redirected the URLs to their WWFSuperstars.com bios. I think it happened right after the end of the Invasion, when they killed off and redirected WCW.com. Namely..

WWFHHH.com
Now directed to http://www.wwfsuperstars.com/tripleh/bio/
WWFY2J.com
Now directed to http://www.wwfsuperstars.com/chrisjericho/bio/
WWFKurtAngle.com
...http://www.wwfsuperstars.com/kurtangle/bio/
WWFAPA.com
WWFHardys.com
Both of 'em just go to http://www.wwfsuperstars.com/, since they have no team bio (just individual bios for Faarooq, Bradshaw, and Matt n' Jeff).

I haven't seen the first three sites advertised in some time, and can't remember the last two in a long time either.

EDIT: To add to the list...

WWFDudleyBoyz.com
WWFEdgeChristian.com

Both head to http://www.wwfsuperstars.com/.
Chyna9.com
The bumps one
Links to WWF.com.
WWF-HoTrain.com
WWFSMH.com

First one doesn't resolve anymore, and the second one's wrong - Steph's site was WWFSteph.com. It doesn't matter, as neither of them work anymore (first one isn't right, second one is a "Not Found" error).

Also, righttocensor.com is headed to WWFSuperstars.com, and mickfoley.com goes to Foley's photo page, which I'm surprised is still around. Didn't he quit back in November or so?

Mike

I recall reading somewhere that the WWF gives people their own site when they get a certain amount of hits on their SuperStars page. Maybe the WWF takes their page away when the # of hits the site gets falls below a certain level?
