And please don't actually respond to that as I DID just buy The Punisher from Wal-Mart on dvd today to remind me. Nowadays they are actually being made very well, if not too often. One could hope that the fans could expect to see a damn fine movie version Of Zelda up on the big screen sooner or later. Although, I actually liked The Mario Bros. movie, so it wouldn't take all too much to please me. Let's all just cross our fingers and pray that Link doesn't end up being played by Skeet Ulrich or some nonsensical actor like that. Like Michael Clark Duncan. | Enojado Viento

The only way to do link justice would be to aninmate him. Hobbits are one thing, elves are one thing, but a midget hyperkientic elfy-thing dressed like a Keeber Elf extra ain't gonna fly in live action.
. . .and as a connisuer of crap videogame movies, I'm a little disappointed no one mentioned the second Mortal Kombat movie or "Resident Evil." | Nate The Snake

I don't know... there's not exactly a great deal of characterization in the Zelda games, it's pretty much explore/find weapons/kill lotsa stuff. I mean... Link is an elf, sorta, who looks for Zelda. Zelda's a princess who gets captured. Ganon's a... badguy thing... who captures Zelda and has somewhat vague plans to do Bad Things.
There's some stuff about the Triforce, but what little story they've come up with has changed from game to game, and the most information they've had was in Adventures of Link, which nearly everyone hated.
Movies have been made with less than that... but not GOOD movies. | MollyFan2K2

Hey, do you know that there's a sequel to Resident Evil in production? It's supposed to have the characters from the games like Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield in it, so I'm actually looking forward to it.
And I actually liked Final Fantasy and Super Mario Brothers, and Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat weren't all THAT bad.

And they ARE making a "Metroid" movie (no idea if the casting has been decided upon), so maybe a Zelda movie won't be far behind ...

Having Arnold Rimmer in the movie doen't give it a free pass.
Not to disrespect you man, but I thought "Tomb Raider" was unwatchable dreck. I mean, the game was crap enough . . .

Hey, no offence taken. We're allowed to disagree...
My only problem with the first Tomb Raider movie was that it was JUST TOO LOUD! I left the theatre with a splitting headache.
I personally can't stand the TR game series, though. | zoggy1

To move to live action would require some creative casting (Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat first one), a strong fanbase like Pokemon and Scooby Doo, and a halfway decent plot that's faithful to the video game.
Of course if it's made by Disney, you can expect a straight to video sequel within the year. | Guru Zim
