Sid Bloomenthal (sorry if I misspelled that) was on Sean Hannity's radio show today to promote his new 800 plus page book, "The Clinton Wars." Anyway, to those who think 'ole Sean is a vindictive asshole or a dickhead, the interview was very cordial and civilized, nobody raised their voice. At one point in the interview Hannity noted that he'd get slammed for being too nice to Sid. To those wondering, Sid was one of President Clinton's chief advisors and speech writers. Here's some notes:

-Sid is good friends with Hilary Clinton, and that she would definitely not run for president in 2004. He didn't know if she plans on running in 2008.

-Hannity asked Sid about Sudan and Bill Clinton's recent acknowledgement of the Sudanese government offering the US Osama Bin Laden in 1996 when he was in their custody and eventually let go. It's said that the US did not take Bin Laden because there was no crime he committed against the US, although that potential for it to happen still existed. Sid said it was "bad acting" on the part of the Sudanese government, according to him not unlike what France recently did to the US in the Iraq conflict. Sid also said that Sudan was just trying to get in the good graces of the Bush administration, "which they should."

-Hannity noted that Sid talks about the infamous "right wing conspiracy" to defeat liberalism in America in his book and asked Sid if he was a part of it. Sid then incited Sean to mention the title of his new book which mentions defeating liberalism. However, Sean was quick to ask how is it a conspiracy (planning wrongful acts in secret) if he openly talks about it.

-Sid said he was upset when Clinton personally lied to him and Hilary and they wanted to believe him. However, he said no one in Clinton's cabinet thought about resigning and that Clinton committed no wrong against his office.

-Sid said he likes Bush but disagrees with some of his policies. He also said he supported the war on Iraq and how Sid was one of the few people to write a speech for a president on how he was bombing Saddam Hussein's regime and he was glad to see him gone.

-Funniest true story. Sid was sitting in on a meeting with Clinton and other world leaders. At one point Canadian Prime Minister Chretien noted that VIAGRA was not covered in their healthcare system. At that point the French minister who had been "sleeping" through the whole meeting perked up and said, "No Frenchman needs to use viagra!" Clinton then leaned back and said, "And you talk about cultural imperialism."

Hannity let Bloomenthal go because he had to do other interviews to promote his book and that he'd try to get him on again soon so listeners could call in and talk to him about it.

Overall, it was a pretty good, enjoyable interview. And after listening to it, there's no reason Hilary Clinton should NOT appear on Sean Hannity's radio show to promote her book.

I don't see why Hillary is so afraid of going on Hannity's show. She'd get the message across to 10 million strong, and frankly, Sean's not that tough of an interview, and he's not a mean guy.

I agree 100% Michrome. Hillary Clinton is the author of one of the most expensive, oft-delayed books of all time so appearing on Hannity who has one of the top rated radio shows in America should be on the top of her list. I think Hannity's interview with Bloomenthal is an obvious play of him wanting to get her on his radio show. Hillary Clinton has appeared on another radio program on Hannity's homebase radio station. And hey if she has the gumption to do Hannity's show, it will be the only time you will find me giving her Hillary doing O'Reilly's radio show is a whole other beast entirely
