I'm sure he was scared, and feels really terrible about what happened, but I think he could have done more. I know I wasn't there, and I don't know what really happened, but judging from the call, Lex really didn't come off as being all that heroic or helpful.

If Elizabeth was drinking and doing drugs at 4-5 in the morning, wouldn't it stand to reason that Lex was as well? I don't know of too many times where two people were together in the middle of the night, one of them decided to take a lethal amount of drugs, and the other one (who owns the drugs) decided to stay completely clean and sober instead.

I was honestly surprised he was able to make the call in the first place, althought I don't think any of us needed to hear it just for Vince to feel like he 'finally' got even with Luger for leaving.

They talked about when Luger hit Liz last month, but never talked about the Austin/Debra abuse on confidential. It's a load of bull for Vince to tell others not to use drugs, when we don't know if he is clean now. I'm sad Liz is dead, and it's sad that they made the last years of her life seem so seedy.

I missed this episode...how was Cena during the 1_on_1 segment? I marked out last week with the Hurricane's kryptonite being broccoli (I'm still laughing at his matter of fact response). Anywhere to get a transcript of that segment?

Doing my good deed for the day.

JC: Nothing below the equator, shoot.

JM: Excluding yourself of course, who is the world's best rapper?

JC: Who's the world's best rapper? Cannibus, man. He's off the grid. You've probably never heard of Cannibus. They ask someone like you, it would be Eminem. But the answer for people who like hip-hop, the best would be Cannibus.

JM: Where do you find those throwback jerseys (He is in Brewers garb today), and which one is your favourite?

JC: Where do I find those throwback, man? Malls across America. You know what I'm saying? Straight up. Got the newest gear at the mall. My favourite throwback - The Milwaukee Bucks. (unintelligble) spin the ball. You know how we do? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right?

JM: What do you predict will be the next fashion statement in the world of hip-hop?

JC: I see the steel chains with the Master lock making the huge comeback. You see it every week on TV. With the chains.lockdown...you know what I'm saying? I think that's making a comeback. That and polka dot Hammer pants. That's down low between you and me. I got the inside from Versace & Hugo Boss. Shh.

JM: What do you think of female rap artists?

JC: Female rap artists are tearing it up. There's like Eve, (unintelligble) If you can get one the mike and come spit, it doesn't matter what colour, sex, race, creed, whatever. Do your stuff, you know what I'm saying. (makes fun of Josh's shirt)

JM: Who inspired you or what inspired you to be a rapper?

JC: Just the fact that it is a different kind of thing. I grew up..I ain't gonna front man...in small town America, I'm from the the boondocks. I'm representing the boondocks.

JM: West Newbury, Mass

JC: The Mean Streets of West Newbury, Mass. We've got a post office, and a stop light. They just put that in last year for the crosswalk. Everybody out there was doing their own thing listening to rock music. I said I'm going to go the other way, listen to rap. That's around the time when DMC hit, LL Cool J, EPMD, BDP, like all them classics, so I just thought I'd listen to everything. I love the music. I love the artform. I love the ability to just go on there and spit what you think.

JM: Who shot Biggie & Tupac?

JC: I could tell you, but I'd have to put it on DVD and sell it on Easy-Bay for $14.95.

JM: Eminem's movie is called 8 mile, what is John Cena's movie called?

JC: Cena's either like 4th mile, because I don't know how the hood goes, 8th mile was a trailer park, I guess, 60th mile was outside the hood, my movie would be called 200th mile 'cause I be way way outside the hood, green grass, white picket fence (unintelligible) maybe a basset hound or something, Alpo-style.

JM: When you're not rapping, what does John Cena like to do?

JC: Cruise in the 6-Fo. Hit switches, and talk to them...talk to them hos.

JM: If there's one message you could give to all your homies, what would it be?

JC: Fully focus man. I'm just trying to spread the word of Thugenomics. Encourage everyone to get an education, I got my PHD in Thugenomics. Look at me. I'm straight up running stuff in the WWE. The smackdown side, the best side of course. Do your thing. Whatever that is. If it's standing here, looking 13, being to be an announcer, trying to ask me some questions...you got your own thing going on here.

JM: Can you give a rap to Gene back in the studio?

JC: Can I give a rap to Gene back in the studio?

JM: A shout out to Mean Gene?

JC: You want a shout out to MEan Gene? Rap bout smackdown, how we're on the blue team, how we rip it from Monday to Thursday, you can't see me with your glasses anyway. You want to walk about stuff like Confidential, I'll rip your teeth out, dude you need the false Dental. I don't need to talk to you or Mean Gene. I play by my own rules, I play for my own team. I can even do this flow, even if I stutter, my flow's mad-tight, I'm like a roll with butter. Word life, kid. This is Thugenomics.

(Josh makes Cena's gesture)

JC: Don't, don't ever do that again. You can rock the glasses and the head thing, and the rings. Don't ever do that again.

JM: (Josh hangs his head) This has been Outside the Ropes with John Cena.

JC: Word life.

All this is damage control by WWE, pure and simple. They wanted anyone who had read the story from other sources (USA Today or whatever) to understand that they weren't working for Vince for about ten years.
That's true enough, and from a business point of view, I understand why Vince would want that point out there. But if they're interesting in giving the `true story' as the segments suggest, then why didn't they ever chronicle the troubled life of, say, Brian Pillman?
Other than the damage control aspect, this whole segment was terribly overblown. Why involve Randy Savage? Are they suggesting he was an abusive husband or something? Hogan comes to damn close to saying that, in my opinion. If that's not the case, Savage has been divorced from her from over a decade -- it has seemingly little relevance to what happened in her final days with Luger.
I think the segment will get high ratings -- but the true story should have been told on a proper news or even a tabloid show -- not WWE Confidential, which should really be named WWE Public Relations.
