"...To this must be added the economic benefits that began before the war, when the American administration gave Israel $9 billion in aid and guarantees, and the benefits it will derive from its contracts for rebuilding Iraq and from the cheap oil it will get. We should also note what Israel has already done, by sending agents as soon as the American forces entered Baghdad; they looted the museums, information banks, and financial banks."

Whole article is at worldnetdaily.com...

The protocols of Zion are strong! Honestly, does he really believe this, or is he just trying to infuriate the arab world even more?

You are going to have to provide links for this... you are accusing Isreal of looting, and you are damning the US for offering a rebuilding contract to an ally, who was not directly involved in the war? Somehow I feel like I am feeding a troll (dammit, I probably am...)

You are really reaching here.....

Pool, look at the end of the post. It seems like Michrome is expressing some deep skepticism about the article.

I agree...I think Michrome was pointing out that this sounds as if Baghdad Bob wrote it.

Ah, well I retract the criticism... lately- I am finding it harder to tell when people are being serious and when they are being... sarcastic :). Especially with some of the "newer" posters around here...

Sorry Mich! I still want a link though....

Here you are.

The entire place doesn't exactly reek of completely moderate reporting to me, but that might be only because I was just scanning down the titles of the articles.

Wasn't in too much of a hurry to read anything.

I was being sarcastic...I just find all of the allegations against Israel so amusing. If there is a hungry or dying child, it *must* be because of a zionist plot to steal wealth. If there is a terrorist attack, it *must* be a result of a Zionist plan. It really gets annoying after a while, and it really shows how deep the hatred for Jews runs in the Arab world.

By the way, the site runs conservative editorials, but it doesn't just make up quotes. The guy really said it.

Judging how about the last 2/3 of that article was quotes, I would think it would be pretty hard to make up quotes that cover that much of an article.

It really gets annoying after a while, and it really shows how deep the hatred for Jews runs in the Arab world.

The Jews are just a convenient scapegoat for the Arabs. Historically, it's been a lot better for a Jew to live in a Muslim country than a Christian one, and that's only really changed in the last 55-60 years (after a couple thousand of the opposite).

The Arabs need someone to blame because their governments and society are a complete mess. And to boot, it wasn't always like this for them. Imagine if in 500 years America was one of the poorest countries, and had the most corrupt and oppresive governments, but all we learned about was how great we used to be back in the 20th and 21st centuries. We'd have issues also, and look for someone convenient to blame.

There is really only so long the elites and government in the Arab world can deflect attention from themselves by blaming EVERYTHING on the Jews until the people realize that actually they're going to have to face up to their problems and solve them themselves. And the elites and government are dreading that day.

Last time a government tried to deflect attention from its problems (lousy 1930s economy and ridiculously overinflated deutschmark) by blaming everything on the Jews, the people ate it up, and began lynching the Jews. Kristallnacht, anyone?

Let's pray we don't get that again...although judging from the continuing violence over the whole Palestinian thing, is it already too late?

Well, there's no Jews left in most of the Middle Eastern Countries. There's a few thousand in Morocco and Iran, and that's about it. The rest got kicked out in the early 50s and left for Israel. Of course, nobody is talking about the right of return for these folks (not that they'd go back), or compensation for land claims, or anything like that, because Israel actually decided to try and take of them and integrate them into society instead of using them as political pawns.
