Reports from espn.com indicte that Bob Whitsitt will step down as GM of the TrailBlazers. For those unfamiliar with the JailBlazers, Whitsitt is the man that traded Brian Grant for Shawn Kemp, as well as Jermaine ONeal for Dale Davis. And according to rumours, he also petitioned to change the team mascot to "Puck From the Real World". To Bob Whitsitt, "chemistry" has always been a four letter word.

And the kicker is, that Whitsitt's regime replaced the guys currently running the Kings (Geoff Petrie, Rick Adelman, etc). Your welcome, Sacramento.

This is the equivalent of the Saints getting rid of Mike Ditka, or the Redsox getting rid of Dan Duquette. I'm sure if there are any other Blazer fans around here, theyve been praying for this news for years.

I havent been this happy since Wendy's brought back the Bacon Mushroom Melt.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I miss Dan Duquette. The Sox went to the playoffs three times under his regime, drafted No Arm, traded for Pedro, Varitek and Belinda um Lowe, and signed Ramirez. And, most importantly, let Mo Vaughn leave town. That in itself should cause a statue to be built for him (before Clemens is mentioned, he was a .500 pitcher from '92 through '96). That's a vast improvement over Boy Blunder Epstein and the ownership cabal of doom.
On Whitsitt, my main problem with him is the O'Neil trade. He should have sent him to Boston for 3 #1 picks instead of to Indiana. Plus, with him gone, there goes one of the suckers who could be bamboozled into taking Vin Baker out of Boston.

Now if we can somehow get a regime change in Clipper land with Donald Sterling, the league will be rid of two executives who are poisoning their teams.

Ditto with the clowns in New Orleans and Golden State.
