They've pulled those a couple times in the last year (RVD/Benoit and Billy/Chuck VS 3MW come to mind), so should they do a few more of 'em before the split PPV's occur?

Discuss.

Naah. Other way 'round. Once the split occurs, there will only be 4 combined PPVs a year. They should make a big deal that these are the only times that you may be able to see crosspromotional matches. They should bring back the original Survivor Series format and have all Raw vs. SD! teams. The Rumble itself is obviously interpromtional, and they could give SummerSlam a Champion vs Champion gimmick, with a bunch of one-on-one matches you normally wouldn't be able to see on account of the split.

I agree... I think the brand-split is ALMOST to the point where each brand could be seen as distinctive. Well at least the talent. With the exception of a couple of names, they've kept the brand-jumping to a minimum since the end of last summer, which is a good thing.
I wouldn't make interbrand matches a regular thing, though. The Billy & Chuck/3MW and Benoit/RVD ones were well-done because it almost seemed like it wasn't supposed to happen (again, notice I said ALMOST). If they keep at it with separate brands, the occassional interbrand match would be cool.

GREAT Idea...something that at least would keep me from shutting off the tv from disgust.

I don't think they are making the best of PPV when both brands are present. Background clips of RAW and SD wrestlers meeting each other, catching up, staredowns, tension between champions just have not took place at all. Hell, they could run a entire feud over PPVs only between certain wrestlers as its the only time they are in the building at the same time, run ins, backstage confrontations. Common enemies on the same brand choosing to support their brand members against the opposing brand. Seeing wrestlers bribe others from the other brand to help secure a result but not have it traced back, etc

They certainly shouldn't go over the top with this and limit to a select number of wrestlers but I think it would enhance the viewing.

I totally agree with you... totally a missed opportunity thee. Too bad its too late. They had a few little skits (D-Von/Bubba, Jeff/Matt, Hogan/Flair and the most recent Torrie/Stacy nonsense at Backlash), but there was very little in terms of payoff.

I still say the best way to explain the PPV split is to have some kind of bench-clearing brawl between the two locker rooms, so that someone (Linda McMahon) can announce that the two brands can longer peacefully coexist. Of course, doing this would require:
(a) Thought on the part of the writers
(b) A past history of competition between the two brands, which didn't happen aside from a couple of months last year, and
(c) Vince McMahon to think anyone will care WHY.

Oh well...

There is only one Cross brand match I want. At Judgment Day the Big Show will be suspended, leaving the one man that wants to face Brock Lesner. That one crazy man-Steven Richards! The bell rings, kick to the gut, Stevie-T, your winner and new Smackdown brand World Champion-Steven Richards!
RRRRRaaaaaaaattttttTTTTTTrrrrraaaappppppppp!

I also think Crip makes a good point, but WWE writers may not be that smart.
