..in 2006. However, he's also said this before, right after he got the job. Personally speaking, he's done some good things, but '94 and the contraction arguments leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Although Peter Gammons and Bob Costas don't seem to be bad choices. Could Bob still host the Winter Olympics in front of an artificial fire, though? | Whitebacon

So in 3 years, Selig will stop running baseball into the ground, and return to just running the Brewers into the ground. Not that his daughter Wendy isn't doing a fine job of that so far, though.
Bud did a good thing bringing the Seattle Pilots to Milwaukee in 1970...but since the late 80's, about the only good things about Wisconsin baseball are the 1992 season (we ALMOST caught Toronto), Miller Park, and...um...the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Seattle's Single-A team near Appleton.)
Being worth only about $1 million, Bud needs to sell the Brew Crew to somebody with money that'll keep the team at their new digs. That leaves us...uh...Herb Kohl (already has his hands full with the Bucks) and Miller Brewing (now owned by a Swedish conglomerate and losing the fight to Budweiser). Ugh.
That '82 AL pennant might be the last championship we see flying over Miller Park for quite a while... | Whitebacon

The problem with selling the team is the fact that the new owner is likely not to be from Wisconsin and the team is locked into its lease at Miller Park. The hot commodities for prospective buyers right now are teams that are in large markets(i.e. Angels, Dodgers) or teams that could be moved in short order (i.e. Expos). The Brewers can't go anywhere, so selling to an owner with deep pockets likely aint gonna happen unless Mark Cuban has extra money to burn... | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
