  • This is a SmackDown I missed that I don't remember anything about - Undertaker/Cena was the main here, that's it.
  • This Velocity had the good FBI/Los Guerreros/Funaki match in a fued that seems to be gone now.
  • Undertaker sold body part damage than Benoit did vs Cena here on SmackDown
  • It's probably better for Matt that Crash got made Shannon's problem on Velocity. I sure hope they're not testing a "even CRASH can't make this gimmick be not-fun" theory. Also, Kanyon, world traveler.
  • Jackie vs Molly, Rodney Mack, Three Minute Warning - I wonder if they're just splicing old Heat episodes together. This was Goodbye Lita but we didn't know it. I would have done a at the end if only I had known.
  • Tony Ling's final RAW recap, although he realizes it has less to do with college and more to do with the show.
  • The 2/16 CMLL show was really was a good lucha show. Short on the match times, though.
  • The next one, not so much. It wasn't bad, but it was just there.

Upcoming: two more lucha episodes, I've got a two set of Ultimo and Rey that I probably should start at some point but starting is the hardest point, and maybe I'll update the freaking main page at some point. I mean, it's not like I don't have ideas (like "someone should get demo info for FLEA to see if it's just that age bracket that went down or if it's everyone - we could all learn something instead of just throwing out guesses and stories"), it's the energy. Apathy, my only friend.

What will be nice is that if Galavision is doing what every one thinks they're doing (never true), I've got 3 lucha episodes to recap over 8 weeks. I think I can manage that.

Right now, I have an WWE Cruiserweight Title History page, and I'm thinking about doing some stuff like this for CMLL Titles. Except here, I'd just be collating a lot of data from other sites (wrestling-titles.com, tape lists) AND it'd still be incomplete - lots of title defenses from house shows I'll have no results from. I think I should find Bihari's e-mail address and see if he kept those results that got deleted when HighSpots dumped their board. Hmm...I doubt it, but I wonder it archive.org has it. Anyway, once I'd get it set up it'd be no problem to keep updated but I dunno if it'll have worth to anyone but me.

There may be a PPV Preview this week. I may be involved. I don't know.

HEY HomerJFong: Questions about your list!

    - Was that list in order of performance or date?

    - Trying to figure out what to start with next - the Santo rudo stuff has seemed intruging ever since I've heard of it, but I figure I'll probably need to get some previous Casas/Santo stuff to put in context - anything to look for in particular there

    - Besides the Santo comp, is there one good tape I should look for?

    - How does the Rey/Juvi stuff hold up today - is it more noteworthy because they were doing first what a lot of people are doing now, or is it still unique today?

I've only seen 3, 9, 10 so I can add all that much...

You know, Kevin Quinn is a recurring character in all the oddest places.

Too bad, I actually liked Ling's RAW Reports.

      Chronologically.

      - Trying to figure out what to start with next - the Santo rudo stuff has seemed intruging ever since I've heard of it, but I figure I'll probably need to get some previous Casas/Santo stuff to put in context - anything to look for in particular there

You might want to get their hair vs. mask match from 1987. It is hard to get some of their TV stuff, since most of the luchaphiles around this time were after AAA stuff. But the Santo Rudo was from around the time of all the AAA talent going to Promo Azteca/WCW, and EMLL solid talent really started working hard and getting noticed. Any EMLL TV from 1997 is worthy of picking up - there is going to be one really good match on it at least, and there is far less clipping than you see on the TV today. (highspots/prowrestlingtapes)

      - Besides the Santo comp, is there one good tape I should look for?

The Best of 1999 and 2000 compilations contain a little bit of everything. I saw best of 1999 (3 tapes at prowrestlingtapes.com) and best of 2000 (4 tapes) at highspots.com. Any of the comps are 'Good'. The rest will still see the presence of Jalisco, Cien Caras, etc.

If you get the Santo comp from Wrestleholics, you might as well combo tape it with the 1997 Santo/Negro hair/mask match and the Cibernetica match.

I'll finally be getting the 97 Santo/Casas blowoff in the next weeks.

      - How does the Rey/Juvi stuff hold up today - is it more noteworthy because they were doing first what a lot of people are doing now, or is it still unique today?

It is still very good. The segments when they work with Fuerza and Rey Sr shows Juvy & Rey Jr's range at working a pure lucha. The best of the tape was the cage match, but the final car vs. car match is pure ECW overbooking.
