Anyhoo - After thinking aboot your review set up with the whole chart deal, I'm digging it more and more.
What made you decide to get all fancy with the chart and stuff? I mean, it really makes sense to do it that way with Lucha but I would've never thought of that.
And golly! Why no AAA LUV???
Just wanted to letcha know that I read the reviews and dig 'em! Keep up the good work!

| #4 Posted on 8.2.02 1026.02 Reposted on: 8.2.09 1029.04 | AAA has a few people I like, such as Pathfinder and Oscar Sevilla (gotta love a guy who raids Tito Santana's closet and steals his old El Matador costume). The women's matches are usually fun, as there's a nice balance of hotness and workrate.
But good lord, I've never recovered from the horror of the Village People in thongs team. They made Billy and Chuck look like straight shooters.
Fun fact from the last CMLL: Los Guapos (Emilio, Bestia, and Scorpio) wore those arab shawls to the ring, and I thought it was since Emilio lost a hair vs. hair match a while back. But it turns out they were introduced as Los Talibanes. Good grief! Let's hope they don't start cutting promos in caves next week...

| #5 Posted on 8.2.02 1329.24 Reposted on: 8.2.09 1333.53 | The table thing is actually Robert's old Lines format, with changes based on lucha rules and my personal prefences. While the new format is HTML possible, it's a lot easier to deal with with the old format.
I use the tables/Lines at all because there tend to be a lot of decently long (5-7 minutes, plus in between falls stuff) eh matches that aren't worth the effort and multiply the writing time for play by play. If something's really good (and I have the time), I do try to, though.
3 hours is a lot of time to recap, with any system, so I ended up picking CMLL because there were more people I knew or heard of, and the wrestling seemed better. Also, it was first, and I was tired of recapping the first week that I gave up by the time I got to AAA. And now I tape 24, and that's on at the same time, so it's kinda squeezed out.
Now, if Essa Rios ends up showing up on AAA's TV, all this may change... | odessasteps

AAA is like bad ECW (if that isn't redundant). There are a few good workers, but it's mostly crap.
CMLL is like old NWA. There are plenty of great workers and the matches are usually long enough to warrant close interest, but not long enough to tax the attention span.
Plus, CMLL has Dr. Wagner, the coolest luchador of them all.

| #7 Posted on 11.2.02 1425.15 Reposted on: 11.2.09 1429.05 | Oh yeah, EMLL rules it. If it wasn't for EMLL I probably would've flat-out given up on wrestling considering my complete dislike for the WSEF product at current time.
At EMLL's worst it can get boring/tedious with the same ol' stuff. At it's best (like it was in the Fall) it's the best thing going.
AAA actually could be salvagaeble if they'd actually put the better luchadores on the air more often. But it seems like EVERY WEEK we get The Barrio Boys and some trio of the fake-La Parks with Mascara Sagrada v. some Vipers trio. Their angles tend to make no sense otherwise and nothing ever is around long enough to like.
And then, there's The Warriors and the soccer playing goats and the Evil Clowns. As if the WSEF isn't bad enough!
