I thought last night's ep was pretty good. The Cartman-trying-to-kill-Kyle stuff was gold. The "Silence of the Lambs" stuff is a bit played. I mean, "Fillmore" on ABC Saturday morning did the exact same thing!
My question is, did anybody transcribe Cartman's "cover story"? That was definite sig material.

I liked last night's too, but last week's with the Crips and Bloods was one of the funniest things I've seen in a LONG time. Didn't they get some famous guy to join their writing team? (was it an OFB post that said something about that?) Are these the episodes he's been working on? If so, what a great acquisition.

Any program which mocks Nancy Kerrigan's infamous "WHY...OH GOD, WHY?!" breakdown from 1994 gets a gold star from me.

I believe it was Normal Lear that's on the show now.

And yes, that episode was hi-fucking-LARIOUS.

Norman Lear ("All In The Family") gave them the concept for the season premiere - that Earth is one huge reality show, and he co-wrote an episode that hasn't aired yet. (Cartman goes back in time and meets the Founding Fathers. Probably the season finale.) I don't know how much, if any, input he's had in the other new episodes.

In an interview with Stone/Parker, they said Norman Lear sent them a letter telling of his admiration for their work and willingness to tackle issues. They got together and then asked Lear to sit in with them on the writing process. They usually get everybody together in a big room and shoot ideas at each other all day, then Trey Parker goes and writes the episode. They enjoyed working with Lear so much that they had him sit in for all of the episode sessions.

So far, the only show this season that was a disappointment was the season opener (Reality Spoof)

The last two episodes were very funny. The Jimmy/Timmy episode proved that South Park can be funny even if Cartman and Co. have bit parts.

I still think the best South Park ever was the tribute to the Simpsons. They even mentioned some of the Simpsons episode production codes(!).

I think it was from this season, but the Lord of the Rings episode was the funniest shit I had seen yet this year. I got it off Kazaa and I can't believe I had missed that episode. Tweek as Golum and Token's reaction to seeing the porno was CLASSIC television.

Crips episode was almost indescribable AND awesome.

I'm glad to have Kenny back on one condition:
this in no way cuts down Butters' screen time. People NEED their Butters.

The Girlfriend and I caught last week's last night. I talked to the girlfriend into after the Lemewinks episode. That really bothered her.

The Silence of the Lambs episde was great. The end with the kid walking to White House with all the toliet paper was brillant. I have missed almost all this season due to the radio show I co-host, but what I do catch is classic. I wish they would re-run the newer episodes later in the night like they used to.

When an episode parodies at least 3 different best picture winners (Silence of the Lambs, Godfather Part II, and Platoon) and throws something like Replacement Killers in there just for fun, you know you have something special. This episode was incredible.

I haven't gotten to watch many of the new episodes...how did Kenny come back?

I agree with AngryJohnny, the more Butters the better!
I would love to see an episode where Butters,Tweak,Jimmy, and Timmy, were the main gang of four. Tweak an Butters just make me laugh my ass off. And "The Crips" was f*#!#ng funny.Plus I'm glad to see Kenny back

I haven't seen SP in a long time (they only rerun the same damn seasons here I believe) and saw a new episode when in Seattle. The crips/bloods one..
That was freaking awesome..

And they showed this commercial for Professor Chaos, which cracked me up big time!

I think no matter what, the creators deserver credit for keeping the show pretty fresh by changing the characters around every now and then..

but i do have to ask. So Kenny is back, as I said I haven't followed it in a bit. Why was he gone? I assume he died and didn't return the next episode?

I still maintain that my favorite episode ever is the "Russell Crowe Show". When the tugboat kills himself b/c he had to listen to Russell sing, I fell off the couch I was laughing so hard. And, of course, it has that catchy theme song:

Making movies, singing songs, fightin' round the world!
